  1. Just got the afl app on my iPhone, purchased a cord from the apple store to watch the games on my tv. Cord works great everything on my phone come up on the tv apart from the games, how can I watch games without foxtel? Help me demonland.

Ps Patton and plowman for first and second round pick

  2. I don't think roo's can commit any longer due to scaring off any potential Sucsessor. If He commits longer a potential coach may think is he willing to hand the team over in 2 years time or will he take on an extra year. I think Roos will stay on until he finds the right man for the job to take over from after a 2 year apprenticeship under him

  3. While believing in always drafting best available, I would be trying to boost our midfield again at the end of the year. The game has changed and top midfielders are of much more value than good KPP these days. Look at who are the top players today (Ablett, Selwood, Watson, Dangerfield, Pendlebury and Mitchell) and compare that to yesteryear when it would have been Dunstall, Brereton, Carey, Kernahan and Lockett. Given our pick is likely to be very early again and much of the top end talent is KPPs, I would be in favour of trading down our pick(s) again.

I also think underage KPPs often look better draft prospects than they actually are because underage games are more open and there are more one-on-one marking contests.

I agree with this if you have a good midfield it will make who ever in your forward line look better we could have Lockett in his prime playing for us but if we only get the ball in the forward 50 half a dozen times a game he ain't gonna kick much goal. Trade our first round pick like the Tyson deal last year maybe nath freeman and collingwoods first pick for our first pick. I wud love to get a gws mid eg shiel but I don't think they will be interested in the kpf predicted to go 1 or 2

  4. I know we have a 2014 national draft thread but I wanted to add a bit. So if frawley leaves we get an early pick but will that make up for one of the best key backs in the comp. what other moves do melbourne have can we off load Howe for an early pick(pure mid or kpf/b) do we even have anyone worth anything we are willing to give up? The dream is to get a early draft key forward to grow with hogan and an early mid then another good mid with our second rd pick then strech with our third I don't know how we keep frawley and get an extra early pick but it's wat we need next yeAr we get trenners back ( hopefully back to yr 1/2 form) toump, viney with preseasons under there belts Tyson better plus Salem and another early mid things start to look better especially with the right development stone Roos. Your thoughts

  5. Of course we'd all "rather" when some games and finish higher but unless we do it's academic. My argument for a PP is premised on IF we go as poorly as everyone believes we will.

And to those who say we don't need it - pfft, which team have you been watching the last couple of years. Yeah we need to change the culture within but we also need to get in as many talented players as possible to try and turnover the list. I don't understand the thinking that because we've stuffed up some picks in the past that we don't need them in the future.

For the record for all the bleating from everyone else about how we've been given numerous picks, we've had TWO priority picks in recent years - 2008 pick 17 (Blease) and 2009 pick 1 (Scully). That's it, not quite the treasure chest everyone's made out. We've clearly deteriorated since then and have now lost our most talented player and possibly will lose our best defender at the end of the year. Our results over the last couple of years bear witness to the fact that we need a priority pick to assist us get out of the horrid position we are in.

    This is so right

  6. If we continue how we are and we loose frawley there is no doubt the afl would have to give us a pp. in saying that the pick we get for frawley needs to be used on a replacement and the pp needs to be used on a kpf to replace Clark. So pick1 kpf, pick 2 kpb pick 3 best mid and pick 20 odd best mid or traded for a decent ruckman from west coast or freo they have a few.

Or do we go for some mids that have been in the system a few years I would love to get J oRouke and L plowman from gws similar to dom Tyson high end talent just hasn't had a good run at it. Or do we look at the 2nd tier at freo crozier, tanner smith and Sheridan the draft has kpfs so freo cud trade 2 of these guys for a crack at a key forward and if they get a key forward it might stop them coming after hogan next year

  7. If we keep playing like we have this year the afl will have no choice they will have to give us a pp(I know it's early in the season but let's face it we are melbourne supporters the draft is our grand final) and if chip goes that will give us the first 3 picks. We could rebuild in one draft with our recruiting team beefed up pick the best 2 mids and the best kpp or trade an early pick say pick 1 for sidebottom and Blair and still have a crack at the two best mids

  8. I don't know where he is injury wise but is young and when he played he got a fair bit of the ball. Scored well in supercoach (can't be a bad thing) is a midfielder so he fit a need and he comes at the right price FREE

  9. Horsley played 13 games in his first year, and was considered one of the club's better players throughout the latter half of the season, with The Gold Coast Bulletin noting that he provided "that dash of maturity so needed in a young club".[11] At the club's Club Champion Awards held at the end of the season, Horsley receieved both the "Most Professional" award and the "Iron Man" award. The guy was a super coach jet hit by injury and a great Gold Coast midfield. I would go for him over mav weller

  10. I am basing this on nothing but my gut tells me if freeman is there at 9 we take him (I think he will be gone) if he is gone we trams sheed. Best mates with hogan ready to go at afl level will be the o.wines of this draft and the main thing is he is best mates with hogan
