  1. According to the AFL site he is headed to the Kangaroos: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-14/brown-to-blue-and-white?utm_medium=RSS The Kangaroos are landing some pretty big fish.
  2. This issue has not been solved yet. There is something Nasher needs to load onto the server and he will get to that when time permits. Loading of new avatars may or may not work for some people. Eventually this issue will be solved.
  3. THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2013 by The Oracle NOT MUCH ADO It's already two weeks since the end of the 2013 season and there are another two to come before the AFL's free agency and trade period ends. There will then be another four weeks to the national draft, the preseason and the rookie drafts ensuring that the media will be full of stories about the game for some time yet and before we've all settled down, with Christmas upon us, the run up to the 2014 season will be in sight. Didn't the football media lap things up this week with a radio station dedicated to the trades pumping out interview upon interview and the print and electronic media churning out story upon story about the various intriguing scenarios that might come into play over the next two weeks? The trouble is that since I last reported to you early last week, only one trade has been consummated. In that time, the world has witnessed the continuation of mass killings in Syria, various acts of violence elsewhere, storms, earthquakes, the shut down of one of the free world's major governments and countless other events raging from major importance to triviality. Yet, with the eyes of the football world on the 18 AFL clubs, only one lousy trade was done and that came as a complete surprise. St. Kilda's offloading of key ruckman and potential team leader Ben McEvoy to Hawthorn for a relatively unrated medium forward and a late first round draft pick had the pundits divided. Was it a brilliant move by the Saints to build on its stockpile of early picks in anticipation of a major rebuild or a sign of desperation prompted by rumoured ailing finances? The position of the Saints is very much a great unknown of the trade period, as is that of Brisbane which seems to be fighting a rearguard action to prevent the defection of its younger lesser lights. Then there's Adelaide and Essendon who must fight this campaign minus any starting first or second round draft picks. Both appear desperate to work their way into earlier draft contention which they can only do via trades or through picking up free agents. Hence, the news of a possible deal between the Crows and the Demons involving Bernie Vince and possibly Jarryd Lyons, the son of former Demon, Marty. Time will tell what happens there. On the other hand, Essendon remains the enigma of the trade period. The big question is whether the spectre of the ASADA enquiry will bring about a hail of infraction notices and who would want to trade for a player who potentially, could spend the next two years sitting it out on the sidelines? The mooted trade of Stewart Crameri to the Bulldogs for pick No.22 is still on the cards but the deal is moving along, like everything else in this trade period, painfully slowly. Meanwhile the Bombers are eyeing Paul Chapman and even Nick dal Santo in moves that suggest they are confident they are on the cusp of being a premiership contender. The likelihood of that happening however, would no doubt be derailed if a dozen of its players suddenly had to take a holiday courtesy of the anti-doping authorities. The Done Deal Ben McEvoy (St. Kilda) traded to Hawthorn for Shane Savage (St Kilda) and draft pick 17. Yawn. To be continued

  5. I might do a technical support ticket to invision to see if they can point us in the right direction re: the likes. What's the exact problem?
  6. I'm not sure it is anything that Nasher did as the thing we need to install on the server hasn't been done yet but I'm glad that it's work for you.
  7. It's only affecting page 110 (http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34425-the-tradedraft-rumour-mill/page-110) for some reason If you click this link http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34425-the-tradedraft-rumour-mill/page-111 it will take you to page 111. i hope that helps until Nasher can figure out why that is happening.
  8. I've passed these issues onto Nasher and I'm sure he will get a chance to look into it sometime soon. He has worked all week on getting this site working on the new server. There are a few little bugs to iron out and they will be in due time but give the guy a few days to spend with his wife and family. Afterall he is doing this for free.
  9. Nothing at the moment. It is only page 110. I have alerted Nasher but he's done his hard yards for the site this week so please be patient.
  10. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34425-the-tradedraft-rumour-mill/page-110 I will defer this one to Nasher. We had this issue with another thread and it resolved itself.
  11. AFL latest: Adelaide's Bernie Vince meets with Demons Happy to take a look but please not for pick #2.
  12. I will pass that along to Nasher and see if he can work his magic.
  13. http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/hawthorn/news/2013-10-10/hawks-acquire-mcevoy-as-savage-departs.workstation
  14. It seems to be only that thread. I have no idea why. Forum Footy really does have a problem. I will defer that one to Nasher. I don't think it is related to the issues we were having the other day. This seems to be a mysql database error.
  15. Thank you for your enquiry. Your call is important to us. Our next available operator will be with you shortly.
  16. No. Because it wasn't warranted. Stop being a pest. You don't like it then there's the door. Don't let it hit your arse on the way out.You and Bob can have a whinge about another mod abusing his powers.
  17. Confirmed: Ling is now a Roo - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-09/roos-assemble-dream-team?utm_medium=RSS Nobody likes us.
  18. I see no issue but your own. Move on Hazy. You too Bob. If you don't like the way things are run you may leave.
  19. At the moment we have 653 and things seem to be travelling well. The real test is post any announcement made by the club. If it can hold up under that strain then we should be right. Our record is 1407 which was draft day last year so that is always a good indication. Even post match doesn't match those numbers.
  20. Thank you. Mrs. Nasher and Mrs. Demonland thank you too.
  21. Thank you. Your contribution is much appreciated and very generous.
  22. The best way everyone can thank Nasher is by contributing to the costs of the site. You can do that either by taking out a Demonland Subscription (which removes the Advertisements and gives you access to the smarphone skin of the site) - http://site4.demonland.com/forums/index.php?/subscriptions/ Or if you have a Subscription you can always donate here - http://site4.demonland.com/forums/index.php?/donate/ Nasher has done a stellar job in moving the site twice in one week and the work he does behind the scenes to bring you this site is just incredible. I am putting together some thank you money to pass on to him so any contributions would certainly be welcome. Please remember that in order to bring Demonland to you guys on this dedicated server I have outlayed a significant amount of my own cash which is ongoing so any help over the time is certainly appreciated. Thanks again to Nasher and thank you to all who have contributed already and to those that get on board in the future. This site is the sum of all it's parts and we wouldn't have this thriving community without everyones participation. Go Dees 2014 and beyond.
  23. Please let us know if you see any of those pesky error messages and also let us know how the site is performing in terms of speed. Around midday or late afternoon is a good indicator or if the Dees make any sort of annoucement.
  24. THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2013 by The Oracle TRUTH, LIES AND THE WHOLE DAMNED THING They say that the first language of the AFL is the telling of lies and the opening days of the 2013 trade period added currency to that perception. If we believed all of the rumours that were being spread about the place over the past few days, then most AFL clubs would be virtually unrecognisable by the time of next year's opening bounce. We heard on Tuesday morning that Greater Western Sydney has launched a bold $4 million play for disgruntled Collingwood defender Heath Shaw. The immediate thought that came to my mind was that the Giants must have plenty of money to throw around if a player of Shaw's ilk was being offered anything like that sort of money to move to Sydney. But then I started wondering who's money are we talking about? After all, this is a fledgling club that can barely attract a crowd of six or seven thousand to that quaint Skoda Stadium out in the sticks of western Sydney where the game is about the third or fourth most popular ball sport and, despite the team's name, it's dwarfed by the local soccer team which has a far greater following and is also quite good at the game. It was at about this time that I remembered that this crowd is being financed by the AFL which grudgingly doles out money to a number of other clubs (including Melbourne) but the amount must be nothing that comes near to matching these Hare Krishna impersonators from the outer reaches of the city of sin. Later in the day, GWS denied it had offered the amount quoted but confirmed they're very much interested so who's going to quibble about a couple of hundred thou either way. Shaw is off to GWS and likely oblivion and if that happens, Taylor Adams will most likely be a Pie sooner or later. In the meantime, the AFL has confirmed that the Buddy Franklin deal is kosher, the Hawks have passed on matching a deal they cannot possibly match and are shameless about the fact that they're content to take a first round draft pick allowed under the rules which they so vehemently denied the Demons under a different rule but that's the business of AFL. So here we are watching the grass grow under the feet of most club recruiters while at Melbourne, which boned one of its own yesterday, there's even less happening. These days Demonland is not the preferred location of most football stars. It's more like the deepest of slums in one of the third world's poorest cities compared to the bright lights of Hollywood. Which means that of the dozens of names bandied about as possible swaps for the Demons' perhaps not so coveted pick 2, none have put up their hands to date. In fact, they're rushing to deny the truth of it all. Done Deals Lance Franklin (Hawthorn FA) to sign a long term contract worth about $10 million over nine years to join the Swans. Dale Thomas (Collingwood FA) joins the exodus from the Pies and is off to Carlton on a four-year deal that will earn him close to $700,000 a season. A clairvoyant with close connections to Mick Malthouse tipped this months ago so it's no surprise at all. Eddie Betts (Carlton FA) goes to the Crows on a four-year offer worth about $2m. Colin Sylvia (Melbourne FA) lured by Ross Lyon on a guarantee of playing in a losing grand final team at least once in the next three years. Shane Mumford, the Sydney ruckman has accepted a three-year deal with Giants. Matt White (Richmond FA) joins Port Adelaide on a three-year deal. Shaun Hampson (Richmond) The back-up Carlton ruckman who struggled to get away from Megan Gale on match days was the first trade, going to Punt Road in exchange for the Tigers' second round pick, No.28 overall.
