  1. Who was most impressive in JLT 01?
  2. Seems like it.
  3. He's already accepted the $1500 with an early plea. It would have been $2500.
  4. Welcome to Demonland. @DeeVoted organises the Supercoach Leagues. He'll sort you out.
  5. He should be on there too considering he missed JLT 1. The list was from the article.
  6. No offence to netballers but ....
  7. Injury list - 26 February, 2018 Jeff Garlett (rib) Dean Kent (shoulder) Jordan Lewis (calf) Joel Smith (left) Dom Tyson (calf) Aaron vandenBerg (foot) Jack Viney (foot) “Concerns for Melbourne out of their win over North Melbourne on Saturday with veteran Jordan Lewis straining his calf. Lewis, who was one of the best on ground in the first quarter, was forced from the field in the second term and played no further part. The Demons are confident the former Hawk will be fit for Round 1 but are likely to take a cautious approach with the 31-year-old. Dom Tyson also suffered a calf injury, this time at training, and didn’t play against the Kangaroos. Coach Simon Goodwin has declared Jack Viney a definite starter in Round 1 despite developing stress fractures in his foot and could return for the club’s second pre-season game against St Kilda on March 8. Jeff Garlett (rib) and Dean Kent (shoulder) weren’t considered for the clash against North Melbourne. Aaron VandenBerg had foot surgery in June last year and is still a while away.”
  8. I don't think this warrants it's own thread so I will put this here. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/02/26/everyones-playing-for-second/ KB thinks everyone else in the league is just playing for second place based on the 4 games of practice matches. Is he high or off his meds? Is this footy's version of The Onion?
  9. A player remains eligible for the Brownlow Medal under the following circumstances: if he is suspended during the finals or pre-season; if he serves a suspension in the current season which was earned for an offence committed late in the previous season; he receives any sort of club-imposed suspension which is not recognised by the AFL Tribunal; if he is found guilty by the AFL Tribunal of an offence which attracts only a financial penalty.
  10. More information from here: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-02-26/match-review-jlt-community-series-round-one Clayton Oliver, Melbourne, has been charged with misconduct against Ben Jacobs, North Melbourne, during the first quarter of Saturday’s JLT match between Melbourne and North Melbourne, played at Hobart on Saturday February 24, 2018. In summary, he can accept a $1500 sanction without appearing before the Tribunal. Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the North Melbourne Football Club, the incident was assessed as misconduct. A first offence for misconduct draws a $2500 sanction at the discretion of the Match Review Officer. The player can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea.
  11. Agreed. It should not have been a free kick.
  12. Like others have said I like the feistiness and the mongrel but he has to learn to keep his temper in check. I'm more worried that these hard tags will be increasingly used to put him off his game.
  13. I didn't see it either. Here is the link to the article (spoiler alert; no further information): https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-match-review-panel-robbie-gray-offered-oneweek-suspension-for-bump-on-jeremy-mcgovern/news-story/4998197c378cd748b0ae7e37ae790c77 Is he still eligible for the Brownlow?
  14. Our inaccurate kicking didn't help us either. We could have put the game beyond doubt at 3/4 time even with Maxy's injury.
  15. It is our kryptonite.
  16. I get that and that explains the loses to Geelong and Richmond. I just can't get past the loses to Fremantle, Hawthorn, North x2 & Round 23. Hopefully a years extra experience will overcome those demons. I know I am focusing on the loses and not the amazing wins against Adelaide and WCE it's just that those losses stung.
  17. We need to win our remaining games and we need GWS or the Pies to find some form. The Pies did beat us. Given the current system of no finals we have to be in control of our own destiny and we have blown that chance. Losing to and relying on bottom teams to win is not a good outcome.
  18. Can someone put some of what these guys are having in my thermos? I need some of this positivity in my life.
  19. I was there for a preseason game against the Eagles and getting out of the ground at the end was a nightmare as there was only one exit. Road works at the entrance did not help either. That was a few years ago so the situation may have improved. I can't make it this year but will watch the game on TV.
  20. I also like the way he presents off-field. I'm not sure if that wins games but I like it anyway.
  21. I like that this view is so diametrically opposed to the view of Robbo last week. I think I'm sitting cautiously somewhere in the middle. I believe we can be a top 4 side but Round 23 still haunts me and I have severe trust issues as a result. We need to win the Freo, North, Hawthorn & Rd 23 games that we dropped last year to be a serious contender for anything.
  22. I'd rather he play too. The more Corio Filth at the game the better.
  23. Can we do a Richmond? https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/02/26/dees-well-and-truly-in-top-four-cornes/
  24. Geelong reporting that he is in no danger of missing Round 1.
  25. Despite his age Ablett is just one of those players that I don't think missing training matters.
