Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
- 2017 Player Reviews: # 33 Jake Spencer
UNDERSTUDY When Max Gawn was forced onto the sidelines with a torn hamstring, the perfect opportunity for a breakthrough presented itself to the man regarded as the perpetual ruck understudy. Unfortunately, it was not to be as Spencer suffered an AC joint injury. Weeks later and not long after his return, Spencer received a one match club suspension and by then Gawn was back. Jake spent the rest of the season going through the motions at Casey and was delisted after they went out of the VFL finals in straight sets. He's already wearing red and blue. I like this part from the article. “I think he has given his heart and soul to the footy club over the past three seasons and people would always say he was the first to get there and last to leave."- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

- When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
- Time to show Oscar some respect!
No worries mate. I have never been overly critical of OMac. He has made errors as any kid thrust into the position before they were ready (IMHO) would be but I understand why the powers that be decided to persist with Oscar over some more experienced heads in Dunn and Garland (last year). That faith has started to pay off and this week was the culmination of that. He will only get better and better as will his decision making. As I said I am not an expert. I suffer from MFCSS so it is often hard for me to see silver linings. Omac was wrapped in Gold yesterday. Please do call in. That goes to everyone else. We want to hear from other Demonlanders. We all have different opinions but we're all Demons.- Time to show Oscar some respect!
I called his first half (against the Pies) how I saw it. He made a couple of crucial errors which have been a big part of his game since he came in. I gave credit where credit was dues when I applauded his second half. It wasn't that he was outstanding, he simply did not fuck it up. I did not watch the first half replay as I am not a sadist so my analysis was based on the emotions of the game. I never claimed to be an expert and if you would like to contribute to the program please call in. We would love to hear different views from different supporters. We are fans not experts. Omac was excellent against the Dogs.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Wondering what he'd look like in a Dees jumper? Wonder no more.- Foundation Heroes Hall of Fame event
until
MELBOURNE will induct former captains David Neitz and Shane McGrath into the club’s Hall of Fame when it holds its 10th anniversary of the Foundation Heroes. Foundation Heroes was founded in 2008 by the late, great Jim Stynes. This year’s event will be open for all members and supporters to attend – not just for Foundation Heroes. Neitz, one of Melbourne’s greatest ever players, featured in a club record 306 games from 1993-2008. He captained the club in 175 matches from 1998-2008 and kicked a career total of 631 goals – both club records in their respective statistics. McGrath, who captained Melbourne in 1950, was a member of the club’s 1941 premiership. Despite missing three seasons due to war service, he later returned to play in Melbourne’s 1948 side. He is regarded as one of Melbourne’s greatest full backs. This year’s Foundation Heroes event promises to be a special night of celebration and fundraising. 2017 Foundation Heroes – details Date: Wednesday 31 May Venue: Melbourne Town Hall Time: 6.30pm for 7pm Dress: Lounge suit Tickets: $275 per person Includes sit-down gourmet dinner, a premium beverages package and first class entertainment Current players, directors and members of the MFC Hall of Fame will be in attendance Click here to purchase tickets http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-04-28/greats-to-be-honoured-at-foundation-heroes - 2017 Player Reviews: # 33 Jake Spencer
