Yeah I know. I'm hoping that if I say it enough the AFL will listen. It comes down to ratings in the end and unfortunately we won't be winning that battle anytime soon. If we had had any sustained success in the past 50 years maybe things would be different.

Success will hopefully bring that (unless of course Essendon is also on).

Until we start putting runs on the board, arses on seats and eyes on the TV we can't expect any free rides. Success begets success.

A first yearer who hasn't played a game for the club? Demonland would meltdown.

That's not really what I was getting at. I agreed that the rain will indeed have an effect on crowd number and in turn impacting on our revenue from gates receipts. Rain will also impact our signing up of new members on the day because of 1) less people being at the game and 2) people who are at the game might be less likely to line up in the rain. I don't expect that we be able to attract a crowd in any conditions as I don't believe that is achievable for any club. I do however expect that the team be competitive in the rain and that's what I meant by being able to beat anyone, anytime, anywhere in any conditions.

You have to be able to beat any team, any where in any conditions if you want to win a Premiership. Both teams are playing in the same conditions and you don't get to choose the weather on Grand Final day. Also Jimmy Toumpas.
