Unfit

I have read a fair bit of whinging, complaining and name calling in the past couple of days and all of it is valid.

The performance on Sunday by 22 players and a coaching staff was aweful.

I found one of the biggest problems (discounting the lack of skill and desire) to be the fact that our players looked unfit!!

They seemed tired throughout the match. I counted on numerous occasions players STANDING in the middle while we had possession. No one was moving. They need to run all day. The blokes looked skinny and tired.

There are some serial offenders - Jeff White, Cameron Bruce, Aaron Davey etc... who showed the same sort of willingness to present last year.

White should never walk. It is jog and sprint for the big fella and then have a spell on the pine. Davey has lost his speed and is never presenting. He jogs until his opponent gets the ball - thats when he decides to run. Bruce looks like he doesn't want to be there. Doesn't lead and never EVER presents.

These are just a few of the guys that were standing around.

As the car parks were closed, I ran into the ground and when I arrived (at the 3 minute mark) I reckon I had done more miles than White did for the entire first half.

How can these players look so unfit in Round 1? Is it our fitness coach??

Has BB got a group of AFL players to a level of fitness over the summer that would not see them last a game of newcombe?
