Could this player be our # 1?

Bruce will get a 1st round pick, plus a player.

Green will get a late 1st round pick, or early second round pick. Think of what a team like West Coast could do with him up forward!

TJ will most definitely get a 1st round pick. He is regarded as one of the best skilled players in the competition, which he is. But he needs a strong team around him. A team like Hawthorn, with plenty of 'extractors' would love the silky skills of TJ to deliver the ball down to Buddy and Co.

I would least like to see TJ go. I think that while he can be lazy/injury prone, his skills are unique and he is a truly damaging player. He could be THE difference in a finals match, but again, if we can't get a strong midfield around him, he's better off going elsewhere.

Green's leadership IMO is underrated, but he goes missing and isn't really a damaging player on a consistent level.

Bruce, while a very versatile player, is a jack of many trades, but master of none. Plus he'll be 28 next year.

I'd trade all 3 if a good deal comes along, but realistically, I think we'll be looking to offload one or two at most.

P.S.- Brent Moloney was traded for pick 12. How you don't think that either of the above 3 is worth a first round pick, is beyond me.

I thought that Bruce is contracted to the end of 2009 after a recent contract extension?

It is better to trade players while they are contracted.

If they are uncontracted then they can threaten to quit and go into the PSD for nothing.

If the player has a contract then sometimes the old club must pay some of the contract for the players new contract...(ala woewoden)

Masten will go top 5

Isn't Masten the short one? Great little player I know, but historically the smaller guys go later.

I want melbourne to recruit Trevor Oliver from East Perth, he is a gun. Reads the play so well and has great pace and skill. He is from the NT had a great game on Saturday against East Fremantle.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
