Your Favourite Daniher Moment

Featured Replies

In the interest of moving on just thought I'd float this one. What's everybodys favourite moment from the last 10 years? I'd go for the 98 Final against the Crows where we belted them three weeks before they won the flag! I never thought we could win the flag in 2000, but I reckon that 98 game proved we were as good as anyone in the comp that season.

Under the current system we would not have played the Roos who were the best team that year.

We should have played the Crows again in the Prelim, instead we played the 'Roos who essentially played their GF in the Prelim and were spent by the time they got to the big game vs the Crows. We came close but not quite.

I'm not bitter though.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
