Now can we start developing for 2008

Featured Replies

We have to look at 2008 now.

Defenders such as Bizzell, Ward, Brown have to make way for the likes of Frawley, C Johnson, Warnock etc.

These players need game time and experience, so by the time the end of the season arrives theve got a few games under their belt. Then they can focus on having a big pre-season and hit the ground running in 2008.

Apologies to Bizz ( He was good yesterday ) but if we are going to improve, its going to come from the young players.

only problem is warnock has not shown one glimpse of promise at AFL level. He was shocking in his last senior game v bulldogs at T dome. cJ and frawley def worth persisting with...as is petterd - i like the way he gets involved - will only get better.

honestly i hope we win atleast 8 games this year. seeing as we are going to start playing younger players, we may as well start them in a winning culture.

it's extremely important for us to win a few games so the youngsters gain confidence...

however if we are only going to win 5 games, we may as well win 4 and a half and get another 1st round pick.

if we'd won 5 games (instead of 4) in the year we picked up sylvia, then we would have missed out on Mclean...i know sylvia was technichally the priority pick, but if we only had pick 3 or 4, then we wouldn't have picked up mclean because he wasn't as highly rated as sylvia or ray at that time.

this about wat a big difference an extra 1st round pick could be, compared to winning one extra game...it's a fine balance
