MELBOURNE’S Premiership side has been announced as a finalist for Team of the Year at the 2022 Victorian Sport Awards (VSAs).

The Dees made club history in November of 2022, securing their maiden AFLW premiership during the seventh season of the competition.

According to VicSport, the Team of the Year award recognises a Victorian team who has achieved outstanding results in respect to their performances at a state, national and/or international level during the 2022 calendar year.

The finalists for the award were announced on Tuesday 18 April, with the Melbourne Boomers, the Special Olympics Victorian Team and the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club also named as finalists.

The Team of the Year will be presented on Wednesday 7 June during the 2022 Victorian Sports Awards, held at Marvel Stadium from 6pm.
