Who will our small forward be?

Featured Replies

I am one of the poeple hoping that Aaron Davey plays 80% of his footy in the midfield this year. All our midfield really lacks is a guy with explosive pace, and nobody in the AFL has more of that than Davey.

I would love to see hm start games on the wing, or atleast play most of his time there , and rest forward.

This probably means we will need a crumbing forward. The field consists of Yze, Sylvia, Weetra, Pickett and Petterd.

My personal choice is Colin Sylvia. I understand he has had no preseason, so a permanent forward role should could be perfect as he doesnt have the tank for full games in the midfield at this stage of the year

Colin is a beautiful kick, a great mark and a great tackler that will apply pressure to opposing backman. We invested a number 3 pick in the Kid,and the time to play him is now.

I dont think Colin will play much in 2007 unfortunately. I think it will be Yze and Robbo and Pickett. No-one smaller.

Danny Hughes will take the role of the small forward to new levels. If Cam Bruce Bruce and Aaron Davey had a kid together it would be Frogga!

I always flinch when Davey's name is mentioned in the same sentence as the word "midfield." A wing is about all I can see him doing. I love it when he drifts up the ground, and even wanders into defence. I'm not too dissatisfied with the idea of he and Bruce deciding where they want to go, a la Hird. But in the centre among the big boys in all that rough and tough stuff? He'd get trampled.
