I can't remember a Melbourne player in recent times that has had that affect on opposition fans.

My mad one-eyed Footscray supporting nephew thinks Gawn is the bees knees. His favourite player by far. And this is a 7 year old kid that can name their entire premiership team and all their scores from all the finals that year. I did have a good laugh when he said he didn't like him as much after he shaved the beard off - I thought the same thing.
