Casey falls short to Coburg

Scorps Surrender

... here's one from Brent Diamond who writes for Fairfax. WJ thinks it's a poor article because it focusses more on the losers than the winners and there are a few mistakes (Michie "yet to make his debut" with Melbourne and Riley also plucked from Freo?) but it does cover the MFC players so for what it's worth, here it is -

Demons improvement lifts spirits, says forward Jack Fitzpatrick

In more promising news for the Dees, young forward Jesse Hogan, who has battled a back complaint this season, is likely to return to training this week after a two-week holiday at home in Perth.

Statistics

Casey had substantially more possessions, more inside 50s and more of everything except free kicks and scores on the board. The free kick situation seems to be a recurring problem. Is that due to a lack of discipline?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
