It makes sense to swing the axe on Dean now, rather than wait. The club can get on with finding a suitable replacement before the end of the season. It would be a waste to hold onto Dean until the end of the year, and miss the opportunity to recruit the best available option, who may get snapped up by someone else. If they knew Dean was not the man, then he is not the man.
