What does 'prima donnas' have to do with anything? huh.gif

..oh, you're a little unusual.

No worries, moving on......

Your signature is apt.

I've too little time to educate you on the social meaning of prima donnas.

It tends to be the prima donnas that automatically jump to conclusions, or worst case scenarios. They then get very narky when called to account. When I first heard that Sylvia walked off with a "lower leg injury", I immediately thought 'ankle' or 'calf strain'. OP never crossed my mind.

Mind you I'm a little unusual. I tend to comprehend what I read.

Sorry. Who are you again? How about you speak when you're spoken to, eh? Since you've gotten involved, let me make it plain.

This is a footy forum. Much of what goes on here is guesswork. What will happen this season, who will have a good year. Sometimes it's negative... ie, who will decline/fall back with the pack.

When all we get is online resources, the footy show and Hutchy to spell things out for us, sometimes we're left to the internet to fill in the gaps. The reports, at the time of my original post, were such that SOME posters were suggesting a leg injury. Some were saying he was only limping. I had word in private that all they could see was that he had discomfort somewhere below the hip.

Now. Given what we know about Colin, it's fair to say that OP WAS a possibility at that time. So I come on here, and I very gently suggest that it could be a possibility again. Understand, for the umpteenth time that I never claimed to have any more knowledge than anyone else (a fact that's COMPLETELY lost on a few people here), and that my post was nothing more than an educated guess. But isn't this a footy forum? Isn't that what we're here for? If that's a bit of a touchy subject for you, then isn't this a bit of a pot calling the kettle black? I simply suggested what other posters also had on their mind, and you come on and call others prima donnas? Fair go.

The next time you have a problem with something I post, pm me instead of playing who's the better poster. Or better yet, don't post anything at all.

At least Dappa's initial post was brief, be thankful for small mercies - my scroll wheel gets tired ...

I wonder. Will old get a warning here as well from the powers that be?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
