From Big Footy..

** A mate in trouble **

(Full BF thread here: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=540539)

Mobbenfuhrer (aka Kevin Court) a good bloke, long time BigFooty mod, Footypedia.com curator and Fitzroy supporting legend has found himself and his wife in dire straits.

They went to America to get specialist treatment for Kevin's wife Arly, who has an extremely painful, debilitating disease.

After spending all of their savings on medical bills they have found there is no treatment, just a long road ahead of 24 hour care.

Now they have no money and are being evicted from their flat. It looks possible that Arly will simply die if she cannot get back to Australia.

** How you can help

Kevin and Arly are currently in America but need to return to Australia, and for this, right now, they need gifts and loans of $US2500 for their air fare.

We need your help, whether it be a loan or a gift.

If you want to make a loan, Mobbs has a one-page loan agreement that shows the amount and repayment schedule, as this helps with his application for help back here in Australia.

I know this comes at a time when we're all giving money to help the bushfire victims, but please dig deep and give what you can to help out a mate.

Just PM Chief or Mobbenfuhrer and you can pay by cheque, online or via bank direct deposit.

** We'll make you famous

All donators and lenders will go in a Hall of Fame thread and receive a special tag to show they have given (unless they ask not to).

Donations or loans over $150 will also get you a free Platinum BFSC (or an upgrade and extension if you have Gold BFSC).

** Do you run a business? Own a web site?

If you run a web site or business I am happy to offer banner advertising and coverage on BigFooty.com in return for your contribution. I've also lined up some possible newspaper coverage.

Just ask me.

** Do you have goods or services to offer up for auction?

There has been at least one eBay auction and we want to run more on BigFooty, as silent auctions or whatever.

** How can I give?

Just PM Chief or Mobbenfuhrer and you can pay by cheque, online or via bank direct deposit. Mobbs can email you the loan form if need be.

** Can you pay the whole $US2500?

Kevin and Arly's wedding jewellery is worth about $US7,000. He is happy to give that to the person who can pay for the tickets, either as collateral for the loan or in return for an outright gift.

Thank you for your support and thoughts. Since posting this up we've received about half a dozen offers but we need more to get the whole $2500 and get Kev and Arly home.

Cheers,

Adrian Appleyard

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
