  1. I found it quiet obvious what the game plan is but simply couldn't pull it off due to bad skills and lack of numbers.

Hold onto the ball no matter what. go backwards, sideways, forwards as long as we hold onto the ball. Wait for something to open up then GO. In the Richmond game I think that showed best only because the Richmond players were going half arsed. One we get better at that movement we will be able to execute it in the season proper.

We were getting the ball to about 75meters out easy enough and then would look up and think 'gee I haven't got anyone to go to. we didn't really have a player the boys could kick to and think atleast if he doesn't mark it he will bring it to the ground. This week we will bring in Gawn and play him close to goal. dump it long and hope for the odd clunck, if not hope of small forwards can swoop.

  2. ok lets put some ill informed posts and rumours to bed. My sister happens to work for the media and has alittle (not all) knowledge of whats going on.

ok. firstly mitch is in Melbourne. he and jones even posted the other day pics of a photo session they did together that day.

Mitch daughter lives mostly with her mother in Brisbane. comes down every now and then and stays with Mitch and his now gf.

Mitch has depression from a lot of different areas that he is dealing with. ie: not seeing his daughter everyday. not playing the sport he loves for 2 years. getting over a injury and then getting a new one over and over.

Mitch is away from the club but still in contact with some players and the medical staff. he is doing his own training so we when mitch decides its time to come back (hopefully at the end of his 8 weeks off) he will be still fit and injury free. He will prob have to do acouple of weeks AFL training to get that fitness back and then a couple of games at casey to get match fitness. So in my understand and beliefs he will return to the club and he will play this year but not until the second half of the season.

  3. we all need to calm down and take a deep breath. We all hoped Clarke and dawes would be good to go Rd1 but unfortunately that's not the case. Its not Dawes knee keeping him out like we feared its his calf. Its not clarkes foot keeping him out like we feared its his hammy. Long story short its damn bad luck.

We will have Dawes back Rd2 if not Rd1 and we will have Clarke back Rd 3-4. So lets get this straight they could play up to 17 or 18 together this year. so lets temped that idea of them never playing together. Lets hope Jesse doesn't get thrown around too much by the big defenders and looses confidence (I think we all know that's not going to happen) and when Dawes and Clarke come in they can take the big defendeds.

How exciting is it too think, all going well by Rd 3 or 4 (unfortunately not Rd1) that jesse and Howe will be taking defender 3 and 4.

  4. I think we should be pretty happy with that. lets be honest Geelong are a much better side.

What I would take out of tonight without looking at it all to closely,

Hogan 13 touches and 7 marks. great first hit out for the year.

Watts looking pretty good for his first hit out also.

Vince, cross and Tyson all great pick ups, top 3 in the touches count.

Concerns. nearly 100 more touches yet 31 less inside 50s.

We will be a much better side once we can start moving the ball forward

  5. If Melbourne were to play like they did in the first half yesterday for a full game and we knew we would atleast get that every game where do you think we would finish on the ladder or how many games do you think we would win? I think yerterday our "leaders" and senior players actually pulled people along yesterday for a half. Trenners was good, Grimes, Clarke, Sylvia and jones.

  6. How exciting was it to see Sylvia play some great football in the first half. That was great. I think it showed yesterday if the ball is going forward we can score, and as strange as it sounds our backs hold up fairly well with the amount of ball going in there. Wasn't great but with the amount of ball going in there I don't blame them. Shows our midfield is just shocking in regards to getting the ball going our way

  7. But was the umpiring in the 3rd quarter yesterday easily the worst quarter of umpiring you have ever seen? Im deff not saying that is why we had such a bad quarter or anything like that but by golly it was bad.

the worst one for me was when Kennedy got the free 10m out against garland for holding, yet garland was one who got thrown around by kennedy.

  8. personally I will go out on a limb today and say we will be a lot better. I think we will still loose but west coast is still in bad form. think e will get done by about 30 points

  9. At the start of the presser it was obvious he had been crying. Then his twitch came in when the stress hit. Was hard to watch. Clearly has developed a love for the club and is hurting that what he thought would happen is not. Feel for him but at the same time how can we be worse than last year? even if he is still trying to sort the AFL players from the VFL reserve players. I just cant understand how we are worse.

  10. Tonight I handed back my membership card to the girls at the membership tent. I asked what were the chances of the 5k ive donated to the club this year getting back to me? we all laughed. they were polite and understanding in me handing back my membership. I will not put up with it. we don't deserve it.

  11. I think its time Melbourne head hunts and tried and tested football manager, CEO and president. even if they have bashed Melbourne in the passed. Also I think its time Garry Lyon puts his heart on the line and joins the club full time. Get Neitz back at the club to talk to the boys about putting your body on the line. We should do everything we can to get Neil Balme back.

  12. As we all have prob heard by now is that Jack got up and apparently gave a very emotional and motivational speech to the playing group on what it feels like at the moment for a person who has lived and breathed the MFC since he was born. Ive heard rumours that he got very upset when talking about what it felt like for a Fan and what we are feeling at the moment.

While this is awesome and just maybe something that will get the players to realise just what it means to everyone who has ever barracked for the MFC to win a game, it is also scary that a guy who has just played his first game of AFL is the one giving emotional speeches after a big defeat.

What do you all think? positive? negative? or both?

  13. Firstly id like to say I am as passionate of a supporter than the rest of you but today watching the boys run around I couldn't help but feel that they just didn't care. The fact we struggled to find a loose man to kick too but they did it so easy. Only kicking 1 goal in the second half. after all these years of loosing I actually don't mind seeing the boys loose if I can walk away and say they had a dip.

Yesterday as the end for me. I know its round 1 but its about round 250 since we have seen the MFC play some serious football. I wont say im going to jump off then back on when we get some success, but I wont be going to a game or even giving too hoots when we loose next week by 100+ until I can read in the paper that the boys had a crack.

ive emailed the club this morning to get them to outline to me why I should not ask for the 5k I have donated to the club back. Wr have been fed hope and lies I feel. We have no future, we should hand back our licence.
