I’ve long held the belief that this team is no good when 30 points up because we become complacent, sure enough we blew a 30 point lead. But also, we really missed the ruthlessness of May who ripped into Petracca during Grand Final when it was well and truly in the bag.

North showed last week how to pick apart our zone.

Lots to take out but it just shows how reliant we have been on May and Lever mopping up and cover cracks that can appear in the middle at times. The forward line is a mess and my boy Ben Brown needs a spell. McDonald has been our best forward since he was dropped so he was sorely missed. We really need our small forwards to lift, they were rarely at the feet of the big guys when the ball hit the ground. Petracca surely just still have knee issues because he looked like 2017 Petracca again.

This has been coming, the previous two wins were anything but convincing against two teams that would have struggled against the 2013 Demons.

Forward line needs a full revamp. Ball just bounces right back out when Weideman and Brown are playing. Lots to work on, hopefully it’s a wake up call and not a sign of things to come because second half of the season gets much tougher.
