Most players wearing jumpers that are three sizes too big doesn't help.

AFL Multicultural and Indigenous Academies
Straight Sets Simon replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
They shouldn't have brought ethnicity into it at all. The AFL (not the clubs) should simply run an academy which gives kids from disadvantaged backgrounds (many of which would include indigenous or migrant backgrounds) an opportunity to be developed in a way that they would otherwise not get to experience. -
I hope it is because of injury no doubt, but I actually think he's a slow player in a lot of ways, not just his running but in all his movement. I realise that it sounds a bit loony but it has been evident to me for many years.

Sadly, I don't think his slowness was because of injury, it hasn't helped but even in 2010 he was on the slow side of things.

What's vandenBerg paying to win the Brownlow? -
Eddie's idea is rubbish but the 17-5 system has real merit. One of the worst things about the current fixture is how teams don't all play each other after 17 rounds.

The burning question for me is, aside from Hogan and Garlett, where will our goals come from?

Cam McCarthy takes indefinite leave

He is able to play football, get paid and be guaranteed to live in Western Australia, if he joins a WAFL team. -
What I find amazing is that Clayton Oliver stormed into top 3 contention without a single game being played. Therefore, even if Toumpas was touted earlier as a higher pick there's no reason it couldn't change.

Scoring options up forward is the biggest concern for me, outside of Hogan and Garlett there isn't a lot. Watts should be the medium/third tall but just isn't ruthless enough, for mine Harmes potentially cook lock down this roll if given a chance.

Toumpas v Wines - Oliver v Parish
Straight Sets Simon replied to Cranky Franky's topic in Melbourne Demons
I drove past training yesterday so I didn't see a lot but Oliver was near the Punt Road boundary and I was really shocked to see how big he is in the flesh. -

Oliver reminds me of Patrick Cripps in how he plays. -
Hands down, what a player is paid is the least of my concerns.

Correct. Taylor hasn't missed a pick so far. -

I've had his posts blocked for months, his bumping of the Trengove thread is lifetime ban worthy. -
I'm enjoying the new shows, I'm in the minority in that I don't mind Maher (I can see why others don't) but the breakfast and drive shows do feel fresh.

Does anyone read Matt Burgan's diaries on the MFC website? I got about one paragraph into the first one.
