  1. Also lets not lose sight of the fact that he is one of the youngest ever to captain an AFL side, and he had minimal to no help from senior players last year.

Expecting WAY too much from someone so young with so much on his shoulders. DA you should stick to comedy my friend. He will come good- you don't just turn to shite overnight, there are reasons that Trengove had a bad year, and guess what- he was not on his own there.

  2. I don't know Rpfc- I wouldn't be so quick to assume Kent in the team means failure with our current midfield group- he seems to have a few things we lack- speed, a booming left foot kick and a little arrogance.

Out of the names you mentioned, I could see him overtaking Magner, Taggert, Tynan and even Tapscott pretty quickly if his body holds up, and that isn't being unfair to this group- I would think out of all the positions in our team the midfield would be the easiest to crack into at this stage.

  3. Teased us with skills and flair not seen since the Wiz graced our forward line, I honestly thought he would be the next big thing in the AFL. The excitment when the ball entered his zone on the G was audible as supporters-even opposition supporters knew something magical was about to happen...

and then, like so many other times, us dee supporters have our hopes dashed and hearts stomped on. I don't care about the circumstances behind him leaving- he left. That at the end of the day is all the average supporter cares about. The fact that we helped him out so much and he literally walked out on us is just the cherry ontop of the shitcake.

I wish him all the best as I don't wish genuine ill-will on anyone, but I am really dissapointed with the way he walked out on us as we as supporters deserved a player of his talents to stay.

  4. This is so speculative it's almost laughable as half our team has been chucked out and aint nobody got any clue how any of the new recruits will perform, and in saying that, here is my best 22

    B. Terlich Frawley Garland

    HB. Watts McDonald Grimes

    C. Rodan Jones Trengove

    HF. Howe Clark Pederson

    F. Byrnes Dawes Blease

    R. Jamar Viney McKenzie

    Int. Kent Toumpas Nicholson

Sub. The perfect sub in my eyes would be the pedo, but we need him on field= so for the sake of the drill we'll just stick Bail there.

  5. If we draft him it will go against all of Neeld's ethos. Not going to happen and quite frankly I will be shoked if it did.

We are a football club not a rehabilitation clinic. If we are after a silky small forward I'd rather take a chance on developing Blease or a Barry type. Next.

  6. I had a post deleted too.

Why don't those who want Garlett click the link above in 'Good Times'' post and come to a conclusion over his suitablility for the MFC.

Thems just be reallly wide pupils to make him see the football better, I don't think there's anything suss behind it. Lol ok didn't know he was into that kind of stuff.

Disregard my last post, don't want this guy anywhere near our team. Not at this crucial stage anyway. Culture sore!

  7. Different to Darling though as Garlett must be a real peice of work for every club to pass.

In saying that though IF he can adapt to the high class culture we are trying to establish then of course he will be a top class aquisition.

Honestly I want us to take him just to stuff Essendon's plans. That's just me though. Sometimes bitter and spiteful lol

  8. Terlich looks the goods to take over the small defenders role left vacant by Batram. Judging off highlights (yes I know they're highlights but it's all we can go by at this stage) he looks composed, skillfull and quick and smart. Perfect combo for a small defender. At pick 66 or whatever it was- I think he can be our 2012 Howe equivalent.

Dean Kent is another I am looking at. Very quick and a booming left foot kick. Viney dishing out to a speedster like this = more forward 50 entries.

Don't know if this is the right thread for these musings but I guess both of these players will add to the perception of a bruise free side :)

  9. Nicholson Frawley Garland

    Watts McDonald Dunn

    Grimes Jones Howe

    Blease Clark Sylvia

    Byrnes Dawes Pedersen

    Fol: Jamar Trengove Viney

    Int: McKenzie, Toumpas, Tapscott

    Sub: Rodan

Fringe: Bail, Taggert, Tynan, Evans, Strauss, etc.

*Neeld has stated that Dawes will be FF and that Clark will be released further up the ground.

**I'm not a fan of Bail, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him in the 22.

Wasn't pedo's role defined as a link between ruck and forward? Would he be playing in a pocket?

  10. Viney really does try his guts out. In the last sprint around the boundary he was running with Byrnes and they were paired behind Trengove and McKenzie, who had been having a good battle. Viney pushed past them right at the end to beat them to the line. He's not built for endurance, but he's already worked so hard to build an engine that he's better than many senior players.

People who were arguing whether we would take the great kid with pick 3 if forced to or let him go to GWS/GC (lol) take note; this is why people were willing to "overspend" (lol) on Viney- not only is he hard and skilled he has a winning attitude that will take his game and the game of those around him to the next stratosphere.

He is a leader on the training track and will be a leader on the field, and all else will follow him.

The prototype of the guy you would want on the front line with one self.

Such a happy melbourne supporter I am :)
