  1. I think it's got a lot more to do with family members, particularly his father, allegedly meddling and asking for money and other incentives for Jack to play with their club at the lower level. Clubs can see potential disaster on the horizon. Undoubted talent though.
  2. How often do trades occur where a team trades 1 player for a mixed bag that takes up multiple roster spots? Not often. I'd imagine your proposal wouldn't be too far off the mark, but that GC would send Hayden Jolly along back to SA. Having said that, the crows do need to make room for Brad Crouch to be elevated onto their list next season.
  3. Hogan is a non-negotiable in my view. We need a player exactly like him regardless of whatever else may happen in the draft or trade period.
  4. Right... so what's the solution? Relocate the club to afghanistan? I'm sure the group would stick together and become much "tighter-knit" if that were to happen. Does that constitute "hardening up"?
  5. Martin or Josh Kelly wouldn't be so much of a loss. But point taken. According to rumour, GWS want picks, while GC have enough decent KPP prospects so would be aiming for a mid. I doubt any other team will come up with a deal that GWS would prefer to pick 3 or 4.
  6. Not sure how long it'll take, but hopefully this match will appear on http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/sport in the next few days. Dying to have another good look at this kid.
  7. I recall stating to people before both Hurley and Darling were drafted, that they were unlikely to succeed at AFL level because they used their bigger bodies to monster kids, and wouldn't be able to do the same against men. How wrong I was on both counts. A player like Josh Toy is an EXCEPTION to the rule. Get Hogan.
  8. What possible relevance does Cale Morton have in this discussion? Who exactly was involved in the decision to select Morton that is still at the club, making this a relevant factor? If it's just blind venting then fine, but it's not logical.
  9. If Collingwood get hold of him, it could completely ruin any designs we have on trading Martin and/or acquiring Wellingham. Or other such rumours.
  10. That's true, but I'd expect a family member of said player to know.
  11. Coming from someone that would definitely know............ (no sarcasm)
  12. Cook is not quick off the mark. Good defenders have good closing speed > cook would get burnt on the lead repeatedly.
  13. I am saddened at the thought of ever seeing Jurrah play in a demons jumper again. He was a sight to behold. BUT- Jurrah not being on the list actually removes the dangerous temptation to make allowances for a player based on special circumstances. And the even more dangerous temptation to potentially ignore his deficiencies and non-compliance to certain team benchmarks due to his significant match-winning talents. I think that in this early stage of forging a strong uncompromising culture it is important to set standards across the board and steadfastly demand that all players meet them. It's a difficult situation I'm glad the club no longer has to navigate around.
