    Hopefully they will announce the new coach and president in the next few weeks, pretty excited by all that is happening.

    It's not, but we really don't know what's going to happen, who's to say watts and trengove don't show us how good we thought they would be, Jones, grimes, garland, frawley, clark all have years thats put them around the AA mark and we shoot up the ladder like Port Adelaide did, as much as we need to add to our Midfield, Trengove rediscovering some pace and Toumpas and Viney getting more games into them will go a long way to us improving as a side.

    Fitz, jamar and a pick to GWS Adams, miles and a pick to MFC Just a brainstorm, but really rate Miles and we need mids

    Plenty of time to work out a deal, i just hope that Neil Craig remains at the club regardless of the outcome, his experience and interpersonal skills are a huge asset

    Where is the list at? we have what i would consider as the young talent that could ( provided they all stay fit and on the park ) could make up the best forward and backlines in the comp in a couple of years we probably need to recruit one or two A grade midfielders, other than that we have a really good young core group of mids that really just need some time

    So the Roo's deal is done then? any idea of some of the potential coaches for this plan?

    So if he wants a succession plan the contract may be shorter than some have suggested, might be looking at 2-3 years of Roos and then a Ling or Kirk?

    Yeah that sounds like the most likely and most appropriate plan, would love to see some names like Ling, Kirk and so on, coaches from the best cultures maybe a sumich or scott burns would be good for the succession plan.

    Not really 100% sure but if say Paul Roos had signed or at least indicated he wanted the job would they need a commission like this to assess the suitability of potential assistants and so on? everything i am hearing seems to be pointing to us being above a 50% chance of landing Roos, yet this move would suggest that is not accurate and we are having to look at other options

    Roos, Craig, WIlliams and Eade are all Very good coaches, we are in a good position to land a quality experienced senior coach although we have PJ and the AFL determined for that to be roos! would not be surprised if it is already a done deal hashing out finer details

    personally cant see him saying no to a huge AFL backed offer

    scary to think howe has only played 50, gunna be a handy player in another 50 well done boys!

    thoughts on alan toovey as a target? he is a free agent could play mid or half back

    i think we need to hang on to tapscott for one more year, has played some good games and is something abit different.

    2 year deal leading into assistant coaching role to help further develop the young mid, a great example of a mid not bursting with talent making it on hard work, would be a great get.

    He's a free agent, not sure why it's so unrealistic? Certainly couldn't hurt to ask.

    Wouldn't mind chasing Matty Stokes, would add alot to our midfield as well as a small forward

    id proabaly give tappy another year but maybe magner and jetta could be worth a 3rd round pick? we did well with those last year

    I think we still go Roos, all craig has really installed that Neeld hadn't was a positive attitude and told them to take the game on, i think with a full pre season we would see more of what either wanted the side to play with and as such Roos being considered the better coach will get the nod.

    My opinion is that it's a done deal, Paul Roos will be our coach in 2014 and is probably going as far as planning assistants and having an input into things already, craig also not being willing to commit to applying for the job to me is a clue that he knows something we don't. if all this comes to pass it will be a fantastic outcome for the MFC providing craig also stays on.

    Agree but i am firm in the belief that picking Toumpas will prove to be the correct decision, it may just take time. Roos would demand a huge amount of respect from the first minute and members and sponsors would jump on board, really hope we get him signed
