I like the idea that 31 is given to the captain (whoever it is), like Richmond does with 17.
Hard to do it currently with the co-captains.
Or maybe we could allocate 11 to the captain (or 37) ...............
I finally got something right! Grimes in 31.

It would be nice to give #31 to somebody who wants to be a Demon to help erase the Scummy association that many have with it. Unless he doesn't want #31, that is.

Her attack on the MFC is surely unprecedented..
And i find The Age's use of a photo of the team from this year offensive as well. Most of the players in the shot were not at Melbourne in 2009.

Has anyone considered that if they take pick 4 off us this year, they are likely to also remove our 2nd round pick ie. Viney?
If this happens - that's it. Shut the place down.

McMahon must have been on the payroll too. if he had missed, we would have won!
If we were tanking, then we were not any good at doing even that!

I think you might find that Geelong's main list is just a tad stronger than ours and therefore possibly a little harder to break into... and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't their magoos do reasonably well? We need experience, skill and pace and they are three things he does bring with him as well as a desire to play for our club.
Tell me who you would rather have that we could realistically convince to come to our club during this free agency period.
Their seconds won the Grand Final against Port Melbourne.
With Brynes in the team.

I love a good National Anthem before 95,000 people.
It's more that "Advance Australia Fair" is a very lame anthem.
The italians have a great one.
Ours is dull.
I am sick of the Julie Andrews version that the AFL use.
The one used at the Olympics was a far better version.
P.S. Even the New Zealand anthem is better than ours

So for once we're NOT in the news and this is somehow a problem for you?
Well it IS news isn't it?

Yes it was. I had read about it on the web and wanted to hear more. Couldn't watch the ABC at 7 as the kids were watching big brother :-(

Anybody watch Channel 9 news tonight?
Not a mention of Jurrah quitting. NOTHING!!!
Their slogan - "where you see it first"
[censored]
If it doesn't happen to a Collingwood player then it's not newsworthy.
If Liam played for them they would have led the whole news with the story.
Looks like we are an irrelevance in the eyes of most of the media.
sad isn't it.

And....
Cue the doomsayers threads about Neeld and 3/4's of the list.
True that. Makes reading posts here pretty much a waste of time.

A good coach would have taken our positive attacking attributes and incorporated some solid defensive attributes. What neeld has done is akin to chemotherapy. He killed everything off, the good and the bad, so he could implement his own style. At this point of time, his strategy is failing miserably. I have seen enough to realize he will not be coaching next year. I think only the most compassionate of hearts will support him. He tried and failed. No excuses. Let's get a premiership coach or at least a premiership player.
Are you actually TGR?

I can't believe what I'm hearing, firstly from neeld declaring he is relatively pleased with the game, but more astonished with demonland posters who accept this crap. Never have I witnessed a coach destroy a team as quick as neeld has done to our boys in 2012. Yet, he is pleased. And most of you brain dead followers swallow the bait hook line and sinker. Neeld is a terrible coach who is destroying most of our players. Never have I felt this kind of dissapointment about the club and it's supporters. Most of you sound like you are born losers. Wake up. Neeld is not our man. We are a laughing stock. There is only 1 solution. Get a proven successful premiership coach, that has the brains and spiritual strength to unite the club and win games of footy. We need to get malthouse or Roos before Carlton does.
This is the worst year of footy I have ever seen.
Wrong about Neeld - he deserves more time in the job to see if you are right or wrong.
This theory about getting a premiership coach is crap. How many premierships had Bomber Thopmson coached before he went to Geelong?
Plus it too him eight years to get their first one.

Reading this thread just blows my mind. You blokes are unbelievable.
You are all just a bunch of Dorothys - just click your heels three times and a decent team will pop up from nowhere.
If we delist all the players mentioned in this thread we will stay down the bottom for another ten years - you can't just draft a new team from nowhere - it evolves over time. With a new coach we need time to let the team develop.
With this in mind Bate, Morton, Pettard, Moloney and Bartram at the very least must stay - all mature bodies, all played 50 - 150 games.
I would argue that Green and Davey should too - I think we all agree that we moved Juinior on to soon and these blokes are in the same catergory.

$ully Filth
In honour of the classic Round 1 1983 banner Collingwood put up in the southern stand when Peter Moore played his first game for us against the filth.

There is a guy at Port Melbourne that goes ok.
His name is Valenti ...!!!
Do you THINK Neeld will get the axe this week?
in Melbourne Demons
Posted
Here is my sliding scale on what could happen to Neeld next week depending on the size of the loss to Richmond
0-30 points = coaches until seasons end (depend on future results)
31- 60 points = sacked after mid season break
61-100 points = sacked sometime next week
100+ points = sacked by Monday morning
If for some reason we win, his contract will be extended until 2018 and a statue commissioned to stand next to Norm Smith's.
