If JVR could notget a game a year ago when we were in desperate straits up forward there is zero chance of us debuting Jefferson this year
I misread this as sprints and thought that there was an excess of pessimism here.
Dunno - Schache could be an answer up forward if someone can give him some angry pills.
Tom would certainly attack with all his ability. And he does have firm.
Tom used to run up and down like Reiwold( almost)
Now he plods and he's just one awkward landing from the end,no matter that he's a nice guy and gives his all

Just watched the mini replay as I wasn’t able to watch the game live.
1. Petty is a sharp shooter and bloody good judge of ball flight. He doesn’t need to be the brute KPF, that is JVR. They’ll be the next forward duo for many many years. I have no doubt. His injury looks significant. Hopefully it is just a really bad sprain and it’s one of those that are back next week.
2. Kozzy has to have kicked the most first-goal-game-GOTY-contenders. I reckon that is his 3rd for this year alone.
3. The umpiring from what I saw was atrocious. 2 of Norths first 3 goals were absolutely jokes, marks not paid, HTB, throws you name it , it was horrendous. If that is what was on show for the 10 minute highlight package then I’m guessing the rest of the game was equally worse.
4. Trac probably only gets the 2 votes as I’m sure so rather innocuous player will get the 3 and you know Bont just has to step foot on the ground to get noticed.
5. We will beat the Blues.
There should be a moratorium on umpire comments aroind here or a group action taking the AFL to court .
We know( every clubs supporters know)that umpiring is difficult and sometimes they are "shockers" but... fmd they don't pick on the MFC.
Grow up..it will be more fun watching the games .
Pathetic much

If Collingwood are the bazball of AFL and the Dogs are the Ivan Lendl at Wimbledon of the finals then Buddy is the Viv Richards of footy.
You always thought there must be a weakness but unless you were Dennis Lillee you could never find it and off he would go...with a swagger
Maysie stitched him up though, maybe related to Dennis's menace?

Oooof what a mess.
61pts against us, so far, in a half. Our backline is a mess and has been for a while. What happened to our fortress?
Typical for us to serve this [censored] after port and the lions open up an avenue to second place.
And what the hell was that from Gus??
Kozzie back in the middle, just get Harmes to tag somebody, best use we can get from him, and EVERYBODY PULL THEIR FINGERS OUT and stop giving them cheap goals.
The fortress is exhausted from saving their ars#s time after time week after week.
It is inevitable

We have had great list over different periods and never won a flag. Goody has won us a flag and kept us in the top 4 for 3 years now which is a fantastic effort. Premierships are extremely difficult to win and just because we think our list is better than everyone else’s this is not the reality in an extremely even competition.
So the players will be happy with the Dynasty eh?

If TMac plays twice more this season the odds are he will sustain an injury to his legs or foot.
It won't be wear and tear .. it will be a career ending injury.
He will be clear to come to an agreement with the Club.
Probably not so BBB
Max is suited to play behind the ball rather than forward.
That's why Grundy needs some forward craft to team with Max.
He's not going to be the full forward ffs

Both BBB and Tmac have contracts for next year and I don't see anyone taking them.
Yeah I know , but both must know physically that their time is up and can retire if they wish to protect their bodies long term with memories of a Premiership in their kit bags, not playing out the season in the two's

Better to get rid of BBB and TMac really.
Grundy will likely play 1st ruck for MFC in good time and can be a "ruck rover" in the interim if Goodwin can fix the line up forward.
Fortunately he's the coach, not I

Rugby audiences are actually way up vs 5 years ago… but the current Wallabies performance isn’t helping this year.
Its an unfortunately secret blessing given the bogan rubbish that is League overwhelms it
If only they got more air time...at least so I could work out why it's the game played in heaven

When is it that Petty forward has " "worked"?
It's been tried and has been ok but no way a "lock",yet down back over at least 2 seasons he's been part of a serious backline glue.
Hibberd in would be an idea as well.
They are running out of room down back which is about the only argument for Petty forward

At first I thought I might agree with this but then I thought about it some more and I'm not sure I do.
For starters, why are we "looking beaten up"? Is Viney really that in need of a rest? Even if he is, is there a single other player who looks "beaten up" (Brown doesn't count, he isn't "beaten up", he's simply playing at what appears to be his ceiling of fitness).
And then there's Richmond. Last week they were 5 goals down to Hawthorn at 3QT. The week before they beat West Coast. The week before they were trailing Sydney most of the game (a side who was in the bottom 6 from the bye until this week). The week before they were blown off the park by Brisbane in one of their worst games in 7 years.
Are they actually that good?
Well they arnt as good as the Dee's.. 4th on the ladder must surely prevail eventually, even if notionally challenged for the first 3 quarters, just as earlier in the season.
It's time to bed down the run home

So we are not as good as last year and last year we went out in straight sets.
I think we are better than last year if we get Oliver in the mix with Fritsch forward and Petty plays back with Max behind the ball, but it's naive to think we are in good shape for the last game of the season
POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
in Melbourne Demons
Yeah the game is pretty well impossible to "umpire" .
Possibly the most difficult (demanding) to play as well.
What's clear though is that umpires are not intentionally biased and (as with lbw decisions ,post replay technology.) over a match bad or missed decisions usually even themselves out.
Paying more attention to specific players with a yellow card rule would not be unreasonable though
