  1. How good is this.

Everyone speculating all the time, because NO ONE has a clue what is going on.

Racetrack Ralphy hit the nail on the head last night on Twitter

Was Dean Bailey the one leaking like a sieve?

Has Gary Lyon grabbed the board/club by the throat and stopped the media tripe that was being delivered almost daily from the Age and Herald Sun.

About time Melbourne F.C. shut up shop and got on with the job of being a professional Football Club.

Or is there just nothing going on....

  2. Appendix 1 of the AFL player rules document:

Contact shall be classified as high or to the groin where a players head or groin makes contact with another player or object such as the fence or the ground as a result of the actions of the offending player. By way of example, should a player tackle another player around the waist and as a result of the tackle the tackled players head made forceful contact with the fence or the ground the contact in these circumstances would be classified as high even though the tackle was to the body

Are you serious - This paragraph is the basis for the Trenners tackly being deemed a reportable offence? The way this reads, a player could get rubbed out for 3 weeks for making accidental contact with a team mate!!!!

Precedent has now been set: Tackle aside, a player can now get rubbed out while:

    - Marking: Hanger, or back with the flight of the ball - Both have potential to cause accidental high contact with opposition player or team mate: Both would breach "Duty of Care"

    - Kicking: Opposition attempts to smother - Potential to cause accidental high contact - If there grounds to reasonably expect a smother is forthcoming - Breach "Duty of Care"

    - And dont get me started on the dangers of the warm up - Particulary the increased risk when multiple footballs are being kicked around.

  3. Cant wait for our young midfield and forwards to capitalize on the turnovers he creates...

I wouldn't be surprised if he only gets a handfull of games before Clarko drops him due to:

    a) Being too soft,

    B) Being the Catalyst for turnovers,

    c) Creating pressure for his team mates.

  4. My point was establishing a difference between myself (a lawyer) and the filth (lower class and homeless)

Pretty sure I saw a Pre-Grand Final joke on just this subject...

"A Lawyer and a Collingwood supporter race each other in a drag race - Just after crossing the finish line, they both loose control of their vehicles, spin off a cliff, and plummet to the rocks below... Who wins???

    ANSWER: Society."

  5. I've been a Melbourne supporter and member all my life. Living in WA, thought about getting the tattoo for a few years now so i'd say i'm committed. My log in name has nothing to do with this issue whatso ever and the fact you relate it to this shows how quick you are to pass judgement with no information on my relationship with the club.

And PhilReadFury i do donate to the club, reguarly, i don't have any tattoos and this would be hidden unless i was at home or the beach. How many filth lawyers do you know?

Ummm.... I know a couple of filth supporter's who NEED a lawyer...

  6. Tacky... Show your passion by donating the equivilient cost of the Tattoo to the club, or by purchasing a 2nd membership...

BTW - I am not anti-tattoo's, but the thought of any AFL associated tatt congers up images of that Filth supporter with them all over his body.

Also more acceptable if you actually play the game....

  7. Here we go again....

Classic example of gender bias descrimination. The only reason she has the job is because she is female - I wonder how many better qualified men missed out on that role. Then again, if what Channel 10 have now is the cream of the crop, perhaps there was no other option but Kelly.

Would be better suited to boundary riding with comments that could be written for her.

  8. In: Sylvia, Watts

    Out: Dunn, Newton

Would have liked to have snuck Strauss back in also, but noone else really deserved to be dropped.

Bruce broke even in my view - Provided some good run and linked up well at times, also stalled movement forward by going wide instead of kicking aimlessly to Adelaide numbers. That said, he was still guilty of poor decisions and disposal - Best game I have seen from him for a while... Controversial?

Based on todays effort, Rivers and Martin are going to find it hard to regain their respective spots.

  9. Tough Gig

If its any consolation, the apparent demons supporting couple I sat next too on Saturday were out for blood from the opening bounce and I dare say enjoyed their experience even less.

    "Ohh no... Not Frawley!!!"

    "Just kick it!!!"

    "No.. dont just kick it"

    "That was definately a free.."

"How embarrassing for Brad Green... Fancy faking being knocked out!!!"

Best thing Bate did all day was kick the ball out on the full in the third quarter, which was the last straw for them prompting them to leave.

Just be thankful your daughter didn't have to sit infront of these ignorant supporters - They hated life, and would have scarred her for life.

  10. Loving the panic merchants.

There is no way Bate or Warnock will be dropped and nor should they.

    In Sylvia, Martin

    Out Dunn, Miller

Strauss has a very nervous first game but I will be very disappointed if he is dropped.

    Agreed.

Bate came in underdone, but should be better from having the run.

Strauss showed a bit and despite one of the worst clangers I have seen, I think he should be persisted with.

Unconvinced by Spencer.. Just dont see it yet.

Dunn was awful, and Miller was 2 steps behind all day.

Brings me to Bruce... One of our most Senior players: Sure he works hard, but his Skills are poor, and his decision making is deplorable - Is he a leader on field? If not, I question why we bother playing him.

    My Changes for this week.

    Out Dunn, Spencer

    In Sylvia, Martin

  11. Word has it that he moved very well for a big man, is a natural athlete, and had never had to work very hard to succeed

As it turns out, attitude, and being prepared to bust ya nut is essential if you are going to make it in the AFL.

Sadly, Trent never pulled his finger out to be a 'professional' athlete. As such, he was told he would not be on the list next year back in September.

No shortage of these stories in the AFL/VFL

  12. * Round 1 versus North Melbourne (MCG)

    * Round 2 versus Collingwood (MCG)

    * Round 4 versus Richmond (MCG)

    * Round 5 versus Adelaide (MCG)

    * Round 6 versus Geelong (MCG)

    * Round 8 versus Western Bulldogs (MCG)

    * Round 9 versus Hawthorn (MCG)

    * Round 11 versus Collingwood (MCG)

    * Round 12 versus Essendon (ES)

    * Round 14 versus West Coast (MCG)

    * Round 15 versus Port Adelaide (MCG)

    * Round 18 versus Richmond (MCG)

    * Round 19 versus North Melbourne (ES)

    * Round 20 versus Fremantle (MCG)

    * Round 21 versus Carlton (ES)

15 for me - Missed Round 22 like a stereotype Dees supporter - Family weekend away at the snow

  13. Just a story I've heard from a couple of people. Since I haven't yet seen it pop up in the news anywhere, it may well be completely false. But it sounds good.

Have also heard this mate or a mate's mate story - Even had details of how the booky offered to buy back the bet for $500k...

    Urban Legend I suspect.

  14. Maybe also bring Zomer in for a debut - Martin* looks to have been carrying a few niggles over the past couple of weeks, so rest if not up to it. Otherwise Spencer out to make way for Zomer.

OUT: Bail (quad), Bruce (wrist), Newton, Miller, Johnson, Martin*/Spencer

IN: Jurrah, Jamar, McKenzie, Rivers, Robertosn, Zomer

Hate to flag so many changes... But Gee, its hard not too

  15. Its more that i do not like giving inflated wages to Faceless Shareholders inside a soulless stadium that is too small. Unless you are in the Medallion club the average supporter is poorly looked after.

As an MCC Member i don't know how much it would cost, but getting a cab or parking a car underneath would be a small fortune!

Last time i went about 2 years ago we played the Swans & it was a Crap game, & i just said "No F@#$%kin' More!!" I do not like the style of football played there. The Ground has no Wings. Its Rubbish.

As an MCC member, you can buy a level 2 seat for $30.50

Good access to the ground via Train or Tram....

Forget the wings; The biggest issue with the Dome is the Mid Strength Beer ;)
