  1. Problem is there is damage. Some of the unfounded comments in media especially implicating Jim Stynes are off the mark and unacceptable. Make me feel livid so why can't Lyon jump or any Demon jump in and be a Demon. The best thing I've heard was from Mitch yesterday.
  2. An analogy Bubs... If you can see someone scraping away at your car door everyday you'll stop them. Not wait for the door to get so bad the whole car needs replacing. Same analogy could apply aboutany business or even your Family/close friends. Don't advise recklessly biting back. I would like to see our Pres assure us in a calculated fashion ...(similar to Mitch's statement yesterday from a players point of view...the events haven't effected the players etc...) that the MFC is going forward as planned and are co-operating with the AFL....bla...... FINISH. No need to feed CW's story. We are all staunch Demon supporters. I harbour anger at CW while also giving her credit for running the story. She must have her sources. Point is we are all in doubt while thinking about re-newing memberships. Chris Connolly must be livid if allegation against him prove to be false or off the mark in some way. Alleged statements along the lines of Jim would be annoyed after the PA win taints the club further. Jim should be respected here. That is garbage journalism!
  3. This concerns me. Sure I posted earlier it's good MFC aren't going to play this saga out in the media as CW would like us to. (CC not returning calls etc.) Melbourne's brand is being damaged and this has got to have an effect on Membership and general pre-season momentum. I would like to see our President Mc Clardy get up and make a Positive statement here and pull CW into line. She seems to have an agenda here. Love or Hate Eddie McGuire there is no way he would tolerate this continued attack on his club.
  4. True Kiss of Death. Teams don't go out to lose. Crazy concept. More the case teams don't bust their backsides hard and consistently. It's called taking the foot off the juice. There's a line between winning and losing. IMO teams don't tank or deliberately lose games and this is also the view of Andrew Demitreou.
  5. Wells and Brian Wilson both played "bigger". Both great hands and a had a sense of where the ball was going.
  6. Robbie Flower without question. His game would transform to another level given the current changes in the current game. He would also receive protection now in what has become a heavily scrutinised game. His skills were always sublime and had the ability to play in all roles from Full Back on Mal Blight to Full Forward, HB, HF and Utility rose with Wing being his dominant position. Barassi must have been an inspiration as well but sadly too young to see him play. Stan Alves was the best Captain I witnessed as a supporter and was always disappointed he never coached us. David Neitz as a power forward not far behind. Forgot to mention Sean Wight. ATM while our Backs are "developing" there is not a player near him for skill or tenacity. Perfect clone Job.
  7. "What were here for is to play finals footy." Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/current-demons-unaffected-by-tank-turmoil-clark-20121101-28l9k.html#ixzz2AwqqrVlV Refreshing comment from Mitch.
  8. Cheers Manny! Genuinely feel a bit happier now.
  9. Good stuff WJ. Can always count on you to bring some sanity into the topic. Just read Kennett's opinions. Compare it to a vast smouldering fire and he's doing his utmost to fan it. Kennett did comment that the AFL needs to take some responsibility rewarding lower finishing clubs with higher picks.
  10. Never really seeing Williams play so hard to comment. Surprised to see him let go given what he went through, his age, body size, his dominance with Norwood the previous year thought he still had a lot to offer.
  11. Fair comment Ron..If this is the case she would have egg all over her face and her career as a serious Journo would be under severe threat. Andrew Bolt has got away with writing complete crap for years. People still read it. People still believe it.
  12. Ron...RR whoever you are...If not true then Caroline has some explaining to do for stressing us out tonight!!
  13. Wilson is a very experienced Journo. Wishful thinking. She is most likely closer to the mark than we give her credit. We all must lie low for a while .
  14. Probably because I'm "long suffering" as you no doubt are. Hard call I agree but he would of been one of Connolly's closest advisors and they are best Mates. Thinking allowed here..perhaps he has nothing to do with it...Just pretty [censored] off
  15. Perfectly said but a load of rubbish. She is reporting the story and melbourne have a lot of explaining to do. Burgundy is SPIN SPIN SPIN.
  16. After closer study if what we read is true then I'm [censored] off with Connolly and his best mate G. Lyon who no doubt advised him. Melbourne needs to take it's medicine here if it is indeed at fault. Pretty disgraceful behaviour by Melbourne board if allegations are true. If it means we lose Viney then so be it. Melbourne will re-build from this rubbish and hopefully all is true about what you guys say about Neeld. Neeld can re-build the club. Melbourne will do it's penance and move on from this. For the better!
  17. Apparently Mark Neeld took out the strap. (Big Bertha) The Cuts!!!
  18. am sure Grammy's dealing with his issues. probably a blow up. I posted earlier we need some experience down back. Grammy and Nicco might be interesting.
