  1. Remember Warren Dean? Ross Dillon was a star in poor Melbourne teams and Greg Parke not bad at all. Parky just couldn't kick straight but was almost as good a mark as Jeremy Howe. Jeremy could make a nice CHF.
  2. As I said. Unlucky or bad judgement on recruitment this year.
  3. Hope so with Dawes. Must say the no 6 suits him and he looks fit. torn on Neeld. Half like him, he's positive and must have some footy nouse. The other half is my impatient side. One ofthe many long suffering. Never have seen Melb play this bad and with the exception of Viney. Jones and Sylvia the rest didn't try
  4. After much adjective and hyperbole directly following game v Gold Coast I felt it necessary to post this fresh topic and would love to hear some more opinions. While I've never been a Neeld fan and did vent on this forum post match, after listening to Neeld and Jones press conference I did feel better. Neeld is learning the "top job" after a few seasons of playing Robin or Tombe the mist(Shintaro) at Magpies. Given this perhaps we must endure another year at least to see if he's any good. Huge/massive recruiting blunders this year have contributed to why we are where we are. Rodan, Byrnes, Pederson, Sellar and yes...Dawes will all struggle at this level . Think of what 5 cleverly selected recruits would of done for us. Types of the Ingerson, Icke, Wilson, Jackovich ilk are what was needed, even a Fevola ((current)surely would of been better than Sellar? Our recruiting has been bad for years now. Not sure what hand Neeld had in 2013 recruits but he is responsible. Q is do we (or action Jackson) give him 2 more years to make good?
  5. Viney and Sylvia tried for him . The rest half baked.
  6. Intense buffoon is a bit over the top. Neeld can't coach and obviously has problems in the area of motivational addresses but the guy does have some passion. Sad for him. No other club would have gone close to picking him ? Was all such a rush. Damn it!
  7. Melbourne was the only gate open for Neeld. Melbourne may well have chosen Neeld but no other club wanted him at top senior Coach level.
  8. Doubt if Mick will want him back. Neeld was blessed with sb, Thomas, swanny and beams mids....Neeld will return to Ocean grove or similar club
  9. Neeld must go. Probably be mid season. Experienced coach required. Like DS but no experience. Would Collingwood let Eade go mid season? Release Eade to save us! Perhaps Roos? Not a lot to lose for Roos We can't get any worse .
  10. Sellar can't mark. The ball simply bounces off his hands while opposition rove to him. Guards his Man instead of going for the ball. Similar to Allistar Nicolson. Nicole was better though . Muc.
  11. The list Sellar, Rodan, Byrnes and Pederson and Dawes were hand picked by this coaching group. 5 key recruits. All are Duds...sad to say.
  12. Melbourne don't want to play. 47 years following this team worst performance ever. As i write this Neeld is patting bottoms at 3/4 break. Something drastic got to happen regardless of the last quarter.
  13. ABC RADIO Carlton criticised for only beating Melbourne by 10 goals. Melbourne came up trumps with one stat. Free kicks for. They say Melbourne are totally lost and don't we all know it. Everyone told that they have to contest so five Melbourne players jump on the ball and a Carlton player rums away with it. Maloney, Petterd and Rivers leave and rubbish recruits come in. Neeld say's Melbourne are two years behind Kangaroos. How old will David Rodan be in two years and what was Neeld's thinking? Was clear for all to see the way Melbourne played v Brisbane last year round one. Sylvia is te only significant power player we have ATM and still some in this forum stick it into him. Would be happy to see Neeld sacked after the Gold Coast match and a new dual Captain appointed immediately to replace Jack Trengove. With all that off my chest what's Panozza like? Realise he's not on the list but in Casey best players most weeks and still only 25.
  14. Don't despair ADEEbrilliant post. We are all rock solid behind yu and our beloved Demons. Can certainly feel the emotion and roar passion in yur Post. Good on you for sharing. Melbourne WILL turn all this around . Mark Neeld is no doubt under done but he does have the passion aND desire. He may not be the man to pull us out but someone will rise to the occasion. What a headline it would be. IMO the savior will start with an S.
  15. Won't happen. Worst scenario for all of us as Melbourne supporters would be a merge with North or Bulldogs. Both bad. Would rather be rock bottom till death than either option.
  16. Demo fan 26Not necessarily. Melbourne can really push Carlton. Blues haven't got loads of Talls to kill us. Blease might be a good match up on either of the obvious Blues speedsters. Sad to see Davey now. Not a shadow of his former self. Unrelated somewhat but interesting to see GWS omitted Ohalpin?
  17. Dunn must be the biggest yo yo. What's the story with him? Watts has more potential and class. Jamar is injured along with Watts? Both would play if available. Gawn. Last year Neeld had a brainwave to make Rivers NBT as a full forward. Is Neeld doing the same with Gawn? Gawn's strength is his precision tap ruck work and has never kicked bags of goals . Will he be dropped when Jamar returns? Put him first ruck option.
  18. Well said Bonkers! Players seem to running to plan but forgetting the objective, the pill
  19. Don't Agree with the deadwood comment a la Petterd, Maloney ...PREDICTION JURRAH will be back next year with Port. He's too much of a gun to leave top level footy.
  20. RB This is our job as Demonlanders. The forum would barely exist if not for the armchair brigade?. We're all "armchair" after all? WhAt ever way we look at it it's been a sucking couple of years for Melbourne. This is clear. The most admired critics all agree its hard to find a positive. I'm trying !!
