  1. I would have thought Dawes would be more worthy than Trengove of this weeks demonland hanging? 500k a year and he was shown up bigtime by fitz today, granted he has played some good games this year for us and his leadership has been impressive but we are paying him alot of money so he really should be showing abit more touch.

Despite what a few here think.

Paying Dawes alot of money was never gonna turn him into Wayne Carey.

  2. Need to start playing boys who just give their all and never leave you wondering.

Thought they were already doing this.

Couldn't watch or listen today due to a Family BBQ but received regular scores from the smirking masses.

Listened to Wayne Carey on the way home and he was scathing of their collected lack of desire.

Never seen a more insipid effort etc.

As I said, I thought they were recruiting goers and anyone who wasn't was gettin' booted.

  3. Yes, neglected to leave that bit out but it probably can be assumed that a target is moving (in drills)

    Good point nonetheless Gonzo. :)

    Can't assume anything.

Often there is no movement up field to kick to.

Players must have the confidence to run hard into space and have the ball delivered to advantage.

  4. To think Gary Lyon when asked to comment on him said, "one word, Judd". I could never understand how he could make that call at the time and still don't for the reasons you've pointed out.

He had a purple patch in a last quarter against the dogs that had people raving but my memory was a lot of possessions turned over or at best scrubbing 20 to 30 metre kicks.

The only real asset he has is an ability to run all day and that may be an advantage when the interchange cap comes in.

I wonder if Lyon may've been ahead of the game.

Talk 'im right up for maximum compensation.

I was watching TF that night and the footage shown of Scully running through the middle of the ground basically doing nothing was unconvincing to say the least.

  5. It's been said several times already but we have to start winning.

And when we do and we're handed Prime time games , we have to win them aswell.

We've teased Demetriou a couple times during his tender and he's given us primetime games and we have been downright embarrassing.
Little wonder he relegated us to Sunday twighlight times.

    Winning sides cannot be ignored.

Oh and for long term viability .... We have to do it for at least a decade landing at least a couple of flags.

  6. Daniher got us to the Prelim in 98, one of the greatest climbs up the ladder in one season in the history of the league. Then got us to a granny in 2000, followed by finals in 02 04 and 06. Considering where the club was in 96/97, id say Daniher did a very good job. We didnt get the cup but nevertheless we did a whole lot better than couldve been imagined on that night in August 96. MFC has some weak as [censored] supporters with memories of goldfish. credit given where credit is due. Not one poster has tried to say hes an all time great coach but to try and say he was no good is just very very lame. Its all so easy to sit back on the couch and bag players/coaches / umpires.

What happened in '01 - '03 and '05 then O ye of great memory.

    2000 was a good year.

The rest were inconsistent rubbish, even those when we staggered into the finals.

Also left the list worse than he found it.

Something we're still paying for now.

  7. He's not a lone poker player, he's the head of a club that relies on supporters. I don't think anyone realistically wants legal insights, but some kind of encouraging words would go a long way for the suffering lovers of MFC.

    There there lil' buddy.

Everythings gonna be alright .... Promise.

  8. There is not one "out" AFL footballer and why do you reckon that is? Perhaps it's neanderthals like Akermanis that prevent it or do you think it's because there are just no Gay footballers?

The reason they don't come out is because of, get this, discrimination in the workplace.

Now if the AFL don't act they are condoning discrimination in the workplace; correct?

    Doubt it mate.

If the bloke could play footy the club wouldn't give a siht.

It's the media circus it would unleash thats the fear.

Until a player decides he want to be a gay posterboy it ain't gonna happen.
