  1. I still cant work out if Kate Upton or that starwars bird is better looking - even after seeing all these avatars...
  2. What roos says is obvious and to me isn't a direct comment towards Frawley, more just logic. Lower clubs will have to trade stars early or face getting shafted later. If you go through my posts from the end of 2013 I was saying to trade Sylvia for this exact reason. (mind you I was told and was thus convinced that he would resign this year)
  3. A bloke I work with watches a LOT of footy, occasionally speaks to recruiters and is heavily involved in local footy. He told me he rates Shiel VERY highly and thinks he will become a very tidy player. He sees a lot of young draftees play at regional level in his league and its amazing what he knows about them, their families, their backgrounds, etc.
  4. Was a major topic of conversation in this thread earlier today. I hope this doesn't come off as sexist or an insult but Ive always just had the feeling that Jumbo Returns is actually a female?
  5. Shiel us quick and he is young. Best footy ahead. I'd rate him over Taylor Adams to be honest in terms of potential to impact.
  6. Anyway. I've watched Shiel a bit and I really like the way he goes about his footy. I rate him more than I do some of the other younger players floating about. I'm doubting the shiel or keep pick 2 scenario. A few tricks left to play out there. lastly todays rumour was that Stuart Dew is the successor and would have been announced already but for contractual issues. This one was an emphatic rumour so see if its right sooner or later.
  7. didn't I tell you guys the club was super keen on Luke Shuey?
  8. Heard a STRONG rumour that Stuart Dew would have already been announced had their not been contract issue.
  9. The reason they are avoiding us is because Stuart Dew would already have been announced as our assist had Sydney not been difficult.
  10. if that is the case why have they ignored our recruiting advice?
  11. I myself saved a tobogganist on Buller the other day that insisted the club wanted to recruit recently sacked dean Wallace to be our 'angry Phil read' style mongrel coach.
  12. Surely the law of averages means we'll have to get the next pick right if we go to the draft. Get us a mongrel.
  13. Nudge won't post anymore because half the people here would pay out on him even though his rumours turned out to be true. remember its a rumour page. Rumours can originate from one staff member at a club, a friend of an agent or player or even from erroneously interpreting something someone has said. And some are clearly just made up. nudge posted some about us getting Dawes and he was hounded down if I remember. Turned out on the money.
  14. I've personally spoken to a person at the club and a recruiter from else where that still defend us picking Morton.
  15. The content on this thread is hilarious - first of all people expecting trades to be done in the first two days of a long and drawn out period of negotiation - people taking every statement from club, player or agent as gospel (Shuey comes to mind) and definitive evidence that they are not for sale or their club wont for the right deal trade them. As Demon2014 put it you start with an ridiculous offer and work down to ground that both parties agree on. Maybe Tom Rockliff/Rory Sloane/Luke Shuey were those ridiculous initial offers but anything less for mine we should just go to the draft. The player we pick up will be only a few years younger than the average of our list. It would be ok. We wont probably hear much for a while. Unless an obvious and unopposed deal gets pushed through to get it out of the way. I think we will end up because of where we are at paying overs for a midfield star and wed be better off drafting a few for mine and filling up with second tiers for low trades.
  16. Possibly buy my mail was that two clubs were very interested although offers haven't been that great thus far.
  17. Sorry didn't read the post properly. My bad. Im on a train...
  18. 1. we win out of the deal at least as a start of an improve (a rebuild of a rebuild of a...) 2. the stronger they get the more obvious their financial advantage becomes causing an eventual correction by the league and a stronger footing to argue for a more equal footing (as in AFL guaranteeing 100% salary cap payments).
  19. They also rated Gysberts, ive heard we are interested in greenwood but wont offer much in return.
