  1. I dont actually believe in curses - but I do believe in self-fulfilling prophecies - Jack Watts is a living example of listening to the hype and eventually perhaps subconsciously believing it.
  2. Quite often they have pictures of players on the membership cards - I wonder who will be on it next season? Clark and magner?
  3. How can you come back from that kind of caining - they will be riddled with doubt and really there is only two players in form. Richmond are hungry and will smash us.
  4. believe it or not - the truth is that we have been shite since Norm Smith said those words.
  5. I remember the curse but I dont remember anyone saying that Norm said that the club would be great again when 'we were worthy', more just that 'the club would never be great again.'
  6. Exactly why Dustin Martin would have been a good fit at the club and why I miss Angry Phil Read - he was always looking for an excuse that bloke!
  7. maybe we need some of that west coast powder to spark up some speed?
  8. For me required players would be Mitch, Jonesy, Sylvia, Treners, Frawley, Grimes, Moloney, Garland and Magner. Im worried Jamar and Stef Martin are going back to his old ways. i say keep Watts but find him a good role in the side that he actually fits in. Rivers looks kinda lost as well. I was a fan of Bennell until today. Bater hasnt been good in a few years. Morton pretty much sums up the Dees of the last 6 seasons. Bail, Bartram, Blease, MacDonald, and many others I just dont see in a successful future and Im not convinced about any of these guys. When you look at the team today I just saw a lot of kinda dumbfounded looking players who just looked lost - Wattsie looked like he didnt really know what he was supposed to be doing.
  9. i watched it at a pub and got about 20 ongoing opinions about what the club needs - most thinking heart would be of benefit.
  10. Its for these loyal fans that the players have to show a bit of spirit for. The ones paying their wages through endless memberships.
  11. Yeah a superstar would be ideal. We will get lucky in that regard eventually just by probabilities as long as we dont fold beforehand.
  12. Id love to sit down with Neale Daniher and Neil Craig right now with a six pack each to analyse where we are at.
  13. Mitch looked ok today. Made some early blunders but today was a pass for him.
  14. I worry the captaincy will actually put extra pressure on two young players that offer a glimmer of hope.
  15. Unless your a 30 year member like me who has got sick of ripping his hair out...
  16. You know watching today it was almost like the Daniher years of kick it to Neitz no matter what mentality has returned. Just bomb it in and see what happens.
  17. Like I was saying - if the players think they can influence the coaching decisions and the club through putting in crappy performances then they arent the right players to stay at the club. if that is part of the culture, its the part that has to change.
  18. yeah i think your right - Bartram is a trier and a half but there are moments where i literally cringe...
  19. There where many games under Daniher when there was no plan B where I thought I could have made a few decisions but neeld should get paid 'stress money' like danger money for taking on the hardest position in the AFL. Watch him go grey or bald in two seasons...
  20. I go back to losing Scott Thompson, not giving enough game time to Jolly, keeping players like Brad Miller for too long, and then capping it off by giving our most loyal servant - Junior - the boot.
  21. Tommy was ok for how much exposure he has had. Jack was disappointing and looked lost.
