  1. Hey, i just discovered this nfl thread! I live in Seattle, (long way from the MCG)! so, im a seahawks fan. I, along with many in this city are hoping manning will end up in Seattle. State of the art training facilities, good structure as an organisation, and most of all, the hawks are in need of a quarterback of Mannings stature. They have built a team around the need for a quarterback, jackson was a complete fail, and if nothing comes of a new one, we will possibly be stuck with him again. Seahawks are looking at the top 4 or 5 teams that will possibly have a good shot at Manning. The question is at the moment, as Mannings visiting his possible teams, is if he will do any sort of throwing at all? Obviously this is crucial after his surgery. But at the same time the rumour is he wont be, and be more looking at facilities, team structure etc and how he will fit and possibly win another superbowl. Miami by the looks of it are also rumored to be high on his list, he owns a house there and maybe hes looking to locate there? Denver will be interesting, Tewbow will not at all be happy at loosing his starting spot, especially after taking a horrible denver (before he came in) to a great season and to the play offs for the first time in 6 seasons! but thats business i suppose!
  2. it should be interesting seeing he's helped Collingwood be so destructive in the midfield too, something Melbourne really need. Along with Viney and his skills as a hard running player put forth to the players. Im looking forward to it, and do hope it comes off in the next few years.
  3. good reply mate, top one. you also wasted more time replying to it. So i thought you could have something more productive to write than that! I love my football club, but your obviously saying the next 3 years at least, has a positive outlook. Afl now is a business as much as its a game, so Scully went. I am looking forward to seeing what comes through the ranks from the draft picks out of this. But at the same time, (now with Neeld signed) lets see if the right decisions are being made for a rough few years.
  4. i love all this traitor stuff people are saying about Scully and all the rest. He lied, yeah he did. But it was smart too, but selfish. By lieing, he was able to have afl games going into nex season, and not be dropped to the 2's...of course hes going to lie! Obviously money was a factor. The only reason hes paid/offered that much ( and im sure he knows hes not worth it ..yet) is so gws made him untouchable. Plain and simple. But, stay loyal to Melbourne? another 5 years of re-building again? the 5 before that will make it 10 years of rebuilding, failing and rebuilding again. Thats a whole career for no reward. Seems like a good profesional option for Scully to move. What does Melbourne have to offer him? come on really?
  5. Lets not ask who we should trade, its more like who should we sign? I personally think we should sign Fevola to a one year deal with possible extension review half way through 2012. People would very much disagree with this, but, hes itching to play footy again, and would be a true full forward. Pretty much never leaving the forward 20 until he leads. Melbourne need someone like that. Imagine how Jurrah and Petterd would play next to him as a 2nd and 3rd option. Its easy, Fevola stuffs up, drop him to Casey. Its not even a gamble signing him (seeing we seem to rotate our forwards to Casey quite abit!!). It should be a gimme, and he might have loyalty seeing Casey gave him a lifeline. Imagine for the forst time in over 12 months (his first game in 2012) and someone is leading from deep....all game like a target forward should!
  6. Jurrah has to learn to go get the ball himself, every time if he has to. Once he figures out second efforts, he will be a great player. He needs to give 110% to realise his own talent and grow within himself. At the moment hes running at 35-40%. I think maybe if we could get a BIG more oldschool full forward, who just leads from the square, thats it. Jurrah will become a great forward pocket with his skill and explosiveness.
  7. Totally agree, the whole reason why Green has'nt been dropped is imo because hes captain. He's too selfish, kicks his 2 easy goals and thinks his stats are worthy. What a statement and kick up the backside it would be to the boys if he was dropped. A captain has to lead a team and be inspirational. Green is not. Instead he crunches team lifting goals (sylvia) to reap self rewards. No captain should be like that.
  8. First of all, gday everyone, long time reader, so id thought id sign up and join in on the forums. I just jumped on youtube to watch the tribute to Sean Wight(been meaning to watch it for a couple of weeks now). That has to be one of the most inspirational things i have ever seen. The will to play football and win at all costs. Everything in that clip showed what it should be like to play footy for the red and blue. How come some (most) of our boys dont play like this for 4 quarters? I know this has probably been asked over and over again. But i just don't know why! To play for Melbourne is to be a DEMON. Play hard, play with mongrel. Make teams fear you, Make other teams supporters loath you. I would love to see that effort to get to that player before they kick the ball, even if it might look impossible. Run at the opposition, run hard and tackle or bump them as they kick, even after the kick, make them know your there. Sacrifice your body to show your team who you are, why your wearing that red V. I could go on, but week after week, i know, if this happened, there would be vast improvements in the Melbourne game, and more confidence coming from those efforts. (Green No.1 candidate to need to do this in order to be respected by both players and supporters)... so hopefully this can start happening soon, for 4 quarters so i can stand in that stand and Scream, "Go Demons" Because theyre playing like DEMONS!
