  1. Weideman reminds me a little of Nick Reiwoldt. He takes the ball at its highest point with his arms out in front. He is a strong mark and a very mobile tall forward, with a lovely kicking action. If we could have Oliver too, I think he will be similar to Wines in the way he plays. Oliver at 3 is a lock I'd say and hopefully Weideman at 7. Let's hope!

  2. Would prefer we take Parish at 3 and McKay at 7. Parish is just the hard working country kid we need and McKay is similar in his attitude. Curnow may have got ahead of himself because of his brother, but there is no guarantee he is going to be any better than McKay. I think it all comes down to how we develop them, so take the kid with the better character.

  3. Who says we need a Big Fish! If we develop Viney, Salem, Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney and Tyson well, then we've already got some solid A Grade talent. Throw in Melksham, Bastinac, Vandenberg, Harmes and a couple more draft picks this year. We already have Jones, Vince, Hogan, Garlett, Kent. I can see real competition for spots with this spread of players. Hell, Michie might improve in leaps and bounds and Gawny is looking like a superb ruckman at the moment. Chins up fellow Demons supporters, I think we can move further up the Win/Loss ratio next year!

  4. Essendon Fans would say any player is rubbish who wants to leave their beloved Bombers. Melksham is a really exciting player to watch in full flight. I remember seeing him compete admirably against Hawthorn a few years ago. He has a much harder edge and is more competitive than a lot of the players on our list. At his best Inthink he would possess many of the attributes of Angus Brayshaw and Jack Viney. Have faith in Goodwin, he was a seriously good footballer and a solid competitor. He will get the best out of our players and will command their absolute respect. Go Demons!

  5. Read the AFL article. Why do you think Beveridge is not talking to him. Why is the manager tight lipped. Michael Talia has made a horrific blunder and the Bulldogs are moving him on. When he first went to the Bulldogs, the senior list spent months knocking the arrogance out of him and I expect that he has not fully embraced the team culture at the Bulldogs,

  6. I can't believe this is accurate. Read his profile on the Port Adelaide website, it reads like the profile of the greatest player to play for Port. He is their highest ever draft pick at 4 and he is considered elite by them. It's got to be Caro doing a wind up on Gary and other Demons supporters.

  7. I take a great deal of interest in the Adelaide Crows and see them as a bit of a second team after the Demons. I think some of you are being a little harsh on Tom Lynch. Yes, we need mids and I am sure that we will get them, but in order to be like a Hawthorn, we need depth in every position. Tom Lynch is an extremely capable Forward and don't forget that we will be adding probably Prestia, Petracca, Trengove, Kent and Frost to our regular 22 next year. I am sure that we will draft in at least 1 mid in the main draft, another in the Rookie Draft and we may well trade for at least one more. Having Lynch frees up Gawn to play as a sole Ruckman.

  8. Had a reply email from Peter Jackson today. It was quite a long response. He preached patience and stressed that we have already turned over 22 players and more changes are needed. He also spoke about it being 'a long journey' and that he got frustrated when players played like they did yesterday too. He also pointed out how young our list is and that the players do need to become more consistent.

I am not saying I agree with him but at least it shows that he cares about this club. I admire his passion.

  9. Trying my foot. I think it is time to try Goodwin. After winning last week that was the most 'unprofessional' effort that I have witnessed live this year. There were quite a number of players who simply weren't trying today. They looked disinterested and they were not playing for the coach, the club or their team mates. A new game plan and a few more sprays are required with some of these flogs. Our biggest problem was our midfield who were not communicating with Gawn well about where his taps were going and not until the final quarter did they start to put their head over the ball, when of course the game was lost. Once again our 3rd quarter was abysmal. A 'please explain is now required from either the coach, the players or the board for that sub AFL performance.

  10. Look at the speed we moved the ball in 2006. Players went at the ball with real intent and look at the spirit that Daniher instilled in the team. Some of those things seem to be developing in the present team.
