My maths were off - 6 list spots open with Woey on the list.

ND11, ND12, ND37, White, with Sinnema and another rookie.

44 Max players, we have 40.

we can fit in and 2 main list and 2 rookies or 3-1, 4-0

if we take White and Sinnema with our 2 available rookie spots that leaves

7,8,37 picks and only 2 positions available, (unless we drop Woey)

depends if what is available at 37 is better than Jnr.

    Big Update day

Farewell LEGENDS Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver

A hard day for list updating :( sad to see you go, and the way it ended.

Welcome to the club Chankough Jaith and Jack Steele !!

I Also thought I would add to the list the contracts being plaid off by the club for reference.

@red and blue forever I reckon Turner has been pretty rough on you here, and you do a great job at a relatively thankless task.

It's absolutely up to you how you run your thread, but I don't think it is a bad suggestion to only update the list with official changes, so that it's a complete/factual record? I know I personally would find an official, factual, list (like it has traditionally been) a more useful resource. But of course if that's not your preference and you'd like to take it in a new direction, that's your call!

I really do try to keep it factual though.

the Age, Foxfooty and the AFL website have all said Mihocek is coming to Melbourne. on a 2 year deal.

the finer points of compensation/late pick swap has not been finalised, but it is happening.

OK so sometimes I go a little early, and no not rely on it being posted on the official melbournefc website. but they are slower than a legless camel

I will endeavor to be more patient in the future. I also want this seen as a Factual Bible of our list

there is no other club. or site, where such a comprehensive and up to date list exists in the entire AFL.

It is a BIG responsibility I really try to take seriously

nope this thread has been derailed to be just heresay now unfortunately, will need to find a new bible to refer to if you would like the facts of our list

    Really?

Mihocek is definitely coming to Melbourne, just needs to be confirmed what we are paying.

I really do my best here, and do not just go off randomly.

But if people here think my way of doing this is [censored], then perhaps it is time someone else takes over.

you are welcome to it Turner.

    Rant Begins.

OK. So Oliver was Fantastic!!. One of the Best players ever for our beloved club.

A KEY pillar in delivering us our first grand final in 57 years.

for this he will always have my respect.

The guy was one of my favorites.

    BUT

the last few years have been rather difficult.

    Clarry's form was poor,

    Fitness was Lacking

and his level of commitment and Focus was dubious at best,

he was no longer a team player, It was about Him

I Understand he has his "issues" Although I do not know what they are, I have only heard various rumours from places like bigfooty...

whatever they were, I respected The Club being kept quiet, and the levels the club went to help him through his issues.

This is a club Renowned for leaking like a sieve, and the Oliver issues were Protected

From Max Gawn having Oliver stay at his house to get his head straight

The phenomenal $$$$ lifetime stable contract he was given

    AND

The seemingly guaranteed game, in the position of his choice given to him by the coach

so NOW, we get a new coach, who is not giving those guarantees

    saying to him,

we may change up the position you play

We will need you to regain peak fitness

and you will need to present a PROFESSIONAL level of commitment and focus

and it now seems doubtless, Oliver Cracked the [censored] hearing he was no longer going to be a protected species that can get away with doing everything his way

and we responded, "If you do not like it, feel free to play somewhere else"

The Correct response to being told this is to wizen up, accept responsibility and get better

For the Team.... It is a Team Game

but to continue to act like a petulant child, Not accept any responsibility and start to attack where the supporters will feel it. Stab them in the Heart.

    It is frankly pathetic.

I am at the stage now, If you do not want to be here, weather your name is Oliver, Mcvee or Petracca, and you are not 100% about the Melbourne Football Club.

    Then [censored] Off

    Rant Ends.

    • Apologies, I am heart broken about how this has played out, so my post may be rather emotional

Update for Mcvee traded to Fremantle for pick 23

Not Happy to see him go, or the way it all went down. disappointed in you son

And there may be worse to come... hopefully we can get some decent compensation for whatever happens next

He will always be a legend of the club. I bear him no ill will

I didn't either. I was wishing he would not go, and was happy to move on from the troubles he has had. One of my favourites...

    until the collingwood remark...

    That is unforgivable
