  1. GWS and Fremantle tabled $1 million offers to Goddard and they were knocked back.

The captaincy will be given to him as a reward for loyalty and Riewoldt is happy to step aside.

Money isn't the big drawcard here. Whilst a glorious seven-figure sum from the aforementioned clubs would "set him up for life", fact is he plays off 1 on the golf course. That'll look after him post-footy.

I'm a golf pro and I can guarantee a 1 handicapper isn't going to win millions playing on the tour... He should take what he can get in his last years playing footy! Hope it's with the dees...

  2. They just said on ch7 sport Frawley is out of tomorrows game. So Joel MacDonald is going to have to step up big time. This is a huge loss especially with Essendons powerful foward line.

Im assuming Sellar would come in ahead of Bate and Bennell. I do not want to see watts kick in after last weeks effort.

Our midfeild will have to step up another gear and stop the ball from getting down there easily.

Did you attend last weeks game? Watts was impressive with his kick ins...

  3. If you think Watts attacked the ball hard enough today, you have rocks in your head. I would rather he have 10 possies giving his all than 34 kick backwards (like last week). As I said in the other thread, if you are happy with his development you are deluded - you have actually convinced yourself that he is tracking nicely. He isn't.

Garland was OK, but if you put your hand up to play on a small - don't play like a tall. As you can see from my favourite players list, I am a fan of all our defenders. I don't think it was a good game by him.

Watts played loose in defense last week! If he only got 10 touches playing that role, I'm not sure the coach would be overly pleased???

  4. 6. Clark, for crumbing goals, taking pack marks and generally making Leigh Matthews look like a dill.

    5. Frawley, for keeping the in-form forward in the competition to 1 goal.

    4. Morton, for taking another step forward in his development and proving his critics wrong.

    3. Jones, for doing what he always does. Not much needs to be said about him, because he brings it each and every week.

    2. Garland, for doing a fairly good job on Steve Johnson (or as every idiot in the media calls him, "Stevie Jay") and giving us a few good inside 50 deliveries in the second half

    1. McDonald, for working well in defence and moving up into the wings to provide an option from time to time.

Steve Johnson smashed us?? 35 touches and 3 goals..... Terrible call!!!

  5. I really dont want him flying back with the flight into an oncoming train just to get stretched off .He got back some confidence yesterday .

I really think he will improve back to near his best .Have a bit of faith in Flash .Hes only 27 I think .

Im not saying he should turn into Jonathan Brown. However no matter what position you play, if it's your turn to go you must... He doesn't.

  6. I made it down to training today. The boys looked good. Bail went down after a heavy hit. It looked like he was just winded, but ended up leaving the ground. Watts did an extra 15 minutes one on one with Bailey at the end. Jordie Mac was running laps the whole time looking good, hopefully not far away. All in all it was a solid 2 hour session.
