  1. The Good Evans Watts Gysberts Jones Martin The team contesting for all four quarters Still being right in it towards the end (4 goals is only a winning margin with 8mins to go in the final quarter) The Bad Juice Bate as sub Another early sub Too many traditional defenders The Ugly Bull's hammy Davey
  2. Can you honestly, honestly say you lined this game up as a win pre-season? I sure as hell didn't. Yeah, St Kilda are down on their form. But there's still class. Riewoldt, Montagna and Goddard were the difference today, and once we have that bit of class running through our midfield (see Scull, Trenners, a bulked Gys) we will have them. Watts was sensational by all accounts, and will keep improving. Stuff the drama. I'll be there Friday screaming my lungs out because the only thing better than beating the Filth is beating Carlton.
  3. Anyone else get the vibe from today that with a shade of extra class we would have had them? A Scully, a Trengove, a Jamar, hell a Col Garland in there seemed to possibly be all the difference today.
  4. Yeah, been hearing this, stuff with the bust-up that happened late last year out there...
  5. Seems like a 4QT effort at least. And when you consider what would be our best 22, we are missing Jamar, Scully, Trengove, Tapscott, Bail, Garland, Dunn (though him in the 22...) and possibly Wonna.
  6. Going from AFL match centre/how I read it from work so take it with a grain of salt... 6 - Jones 5 - Watts 4 - Evans 3 - Gys 2 - Jetta 1 - Martin
  7. Bhima, that's a great read. Won't have as much of an impact on the MFC as other clubs who operate more licenses, but nevertheless still will. In terms of the advertising, I'm seriously starting to dislike it. It's not just about the punters, it puts the AFL at risk for match-fixing. Think about it - player x has an agreement with a friend that if at QT/3QT (at which point the odds flash up on the scoreboard) if the opposing team is out to a certain value the player may start to turn the ball over, make 'mistakes' and such. I know it's not something we like to think about it, but it's always a possibility. With the involvement of the MFC itself, I think Deesbet and the like are morally fuzzy - if you win, you win, if you lose, the club wins. The club, your passion, is encouraging you to lose...
  8. 1) GWS 2) Not forcing the Roos to the Gold Coast (going to be a great look when that club literally dies...Fitzroy all over again) 3) Out of Bounds = free kick in the NAB 4) Dissolving the U19s competition for the TAC Cup 5) Dissolving the reserves 6) Half-heartedly doing Waverley Park (3 grounds right now in Melbourne would be fantastic if Waverley had the required train line) 7) Any non-safety related rule change after the year 2000 all i got atm
  9. How about start in first, accelerate hard, shift to second at 20 contested possessions, quick-shift to third when we're 4 goals in front, 4th when Saint Nick kicks his 4th behind and top gear when Watts kicks his 5th?
  10. Evans, McKenzie,
  11. Yeah there's not much. The other one I'm waiting on is Mzungu but he's probably still 2-3 away.
  12. god no, downgraded Harris then swapped Tarrant for Fisher
  13. And it's official now, cos he is IN MY SUPERCOACH TEAM
  14. If you were in the room with me, you may have just seen my orgasm face.
  15. I don't get the recent criticism of him. I actually think we've looked better defensively with Warnock down there. I know there's been a couple of really bad games, but they're games that have been lost because of the midfield battles and the getting-trapped-in-our-defensive-50-because-we-can't-break-the-press. Warnock has won his one-on-ones superbly - better than Rivers seems to. He doesn't offer as much going forward, no, but with Chip stepping into the attacking defender role nicely I don't think it matters that much anyway.
  16. noone pays attention to the club sites =/
  17. Long as all 22 hearts beat true...
  18. Doubtful - too tall, and especially Master as emergency is silly
  19. means that as a kid he couldn't bear to be the only melbourne supporter at school Sad state of affairs
  20. Well we'd have invested in a cloning program for Jimma by now...
  21. Bellchambers, Ryder and Hille...[censored].
  22. - Semmingly finding two great rookie stars in Evans and Nicholson - The Tap - Col Garland up until the injury
  23. crazy tbh. didn't really work.
  24. The selection is the leadership group, plus Frawley and Scull. Probably should have put Trenners in there too in hindsight.
  25. I'll agree with this, he was superb in that first quarter and fully deserves a full game at FF.
