We had no presence in the forward line once Gawn went down and Watts was thrown into the ruck. Had Hogan played, the ball would have come to ground far more and the defenders would have been second guessing themselves. Plus he would have clunked at least a couple. Let's hope he learns from it.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 3

Not just the players either. There's far too much optimism and back slapping for this to be Demonland -
Ah yep, that was the game. Thanks for that buddy, was a long time ago now.

Didn't Luke Tapscott go by Bull too? His career highlight was probably breaking Rhys Shaw's ribs with one of the better hip and shoulders I've seen. Think that was the game we demolished Sydney at the G when Roos was coaching them.

It sounds as though your expectations of Robbo might be a bit high. He's a cretin. I flicked over to his show with Gerard Whately the other night and it was absolute garbage. Their so called 'banter' involved them clamouring to speak over each other, and then Whately went on a 5 minute rant about how Buckley should be given a contract extension this week. Couldn't watch any more after that.

Great work guys, good listening. Special Robert's call was ... a highlight! -
Christian Salem - future position role

Marking was something I wasn't aware he was particularly good at, but he took a couple of rippers on Sunday. If he stays fit, he's a permanent fixture and a seriously good player. -
Two shows to recommend, both available on SBS on demand (at least partially): 'Trapped' - an Icelandic murder mystery thriller about a small coastal town which is isolated from the rest of the country at just the right time by a blizzard. 'The Night Manager' - another brilliant British show. Tom Hiddleston plays a hotel night manager who infiltrates an arms ring led by Hugh Laurie (who's very, very good). Also features our own Elizabeth Debicki. This show has convinced me that Hiddleston could be a good option for the next Bond.

Looked like HB to me. He was doing a fair bit of the work Bernie usually does. With Lewis out, one of them will probably go inside this weekend. Bernie to Dangerfield makes the most sense, which means Salem can doing exactly what he did against the Blues.
-
Tend to agree that he's been very overrated over the past few years, but he did have a pretty good game on Thursday. Clarrie stiff not to go back to back.
-
Yep, now it's a good test. We have guys chomping at the bit to come in, so hopefully they'll be adequate cover. Vince back and Pedo/Spencer for Hogan. Bugg might find a way in too, he dominated at Casey over the weekend.

Phenomenal decisions. Cannot believe the Thompson one, consider Rance's dog hit on Watts last year was almost the same, but with less force. And he got 2 for that.

We have a serious score to settle here. I think we'll get up.

I think we'll see Jack tear a game apart in the next two weeks, but I don't see the point in him being made a co-captain this season. The captaincy should have been left solely with Chunk IMO. That would have let Viney play another year where he could focus on developing his own game, and learn even more from Jones without actually having the pressure of captaincy thrust upon him this early.
-
Tell it how it is! He's obviously not quite AFL quality, but at times when Spencer has had to shoulder the load, he has done a decent job. I actually think he's not too bad as a tap ruckman, but his skills and work around the ground does leave a lot to be desired. Sidenote - after watching that highlight reel, Filipovic really needs to learn how to kick.

I hate to imagine your reaction if Oscar McDonald earned a coaching role after his playing career. Do you just hate defenders pf? -
Definitely worth a look.

I don't think there are any 'definite losses' for us next season.
