Sensible decision - he can be relied upon to get himself 'match fit', working through injuries and related negativities to his form. On several occasions, I have seen him training (and he has done so at far greater effort, concentration and work rate than any other team member), so we should have confidence in his training philosophy and method(s). It is also time for Trac to slow down his external commitments and appearances; from his recent Adelaide adventures, he must have been 'almost' exhausted, as suspected during the Brizzy game, giving public addresses and forums, cooking demonstrations, travel to and from locations, preparations for the public domain whilst still meeting Club/Team commitments and preparations.

    Huh?

Are you saying Trac should not do a cooking demonstration or talk in public because he's too exhausted?

    Comedy gold!

Anzac is eve is great when it's a home game ... but not so much when it's away.

I'll be watching it on the radio.

I'd send you my ticket Moonie but .... as you have no friends to take with you ... it would be wasted.

Have fun watching it on the radio! Haha!

    Soft. Is not a KPP.

    No AFL footballer is soft

Lukosius isn't a pack crunching key forward like JVR. But he's a good mark, one on one included, an exceptional kick and decision maker and would definitely be a big part of our forward set up over the next 8-10 years. He's also versatile, plays back if needed. I can even see him getting time in the middle, such is his high footy IQ

The whole 'Jack Watts 2.0' label shows that some fans like cheap shot labels because it's easier than thinking in any depth

It's a big YES from me, assuming the price isn't too high.

    In JT we trust

  4. I'm just gonna try and scan in my 16 game membership and walk around until I can find a seat.

Might even sneak into lev 2 where I sit for home games, unfortunately this time surrounded by rabid tiger fans.

Perhaps I'll get BBO to find a seat for me, his outfit usually clears the nearby area within 20 mins

Firstly because the ground belongs to the MCC and like all the clubs that call it home we are a tenant club (though closer aligned to the MCC than others).

Secondly as stated there are such a high volume of games every week the curators have decided it needs that time through the week to recover.

Even if we were to get on the ground it wouldn’t be major sessions so it wouldn’t really be worth it compared to doing a proper session at Gosches paddock or (hopefully in the future) an MCG sized training facility of our own.

That's incorrect. The MCG belongs to the Victorian Government through the MCG Trust. It is managed through an agreement with the MCC

  6. I have a bunch of friends who were mad Fitzroy supporters from the day thet were born. Some had long history of familial ties to the club. One mate has an old large b&w photo of their last premiership team with signatures below, and a few jerseys from that era, passed down through the family

They used to go on crazy interstate trips as teenagers with the cheer squad and get up to all sorts of mischief, often alongside the players.

Many of them hoped for a North merger so they could survive in some way in Melbourne city. It was widely known how poor the club was and how badly it had been run.

They were all blindsided by the Brisbane merger and furious at the AFL and Oakley. Two mates eventually became Brisbane supporters, almost reluctantly. All the rest no longer follow any team or footy at all.

I thought of them when we were at our worst around the Bailey/Neeld time, worried that history may repeat.

2021 was all the sweeter to realise we have come so far. But survival and success are more than winning one flag.

    Our time is now.

Nank and Hannebery were pushed out.

    Hannebery was finished physically.

Yep, and Zac Jones wasn't a great loss.

Dawson was the one who got away

Hayward. 4 year deal for at least a $1.5mil package.

$1.5mill ÷ 4 = $370,000 per annum. Is that what you are suggesting?

I’d prefer Florent for roughly a $2.0m over a 5 year deal. Heading into his prime and is a Vic boy who may want to come home.

    $2 mill ÷ 5 = $400,000 per annum. Is that right?

If so, you need to leave the early 2000s and port yourselves into 2024

It would take twice that, or more, to get him to move

  10. Do my ears deceive me?!!!

Gerard Healy currently giving praise to Melbourne's talent finders for drafting Oliver, Trac and partic for finding McVee (said Juddy is just about the best kick in the league) and for trading for Lever and May

Though he did give a levelling backhander for picking Weid above Curnow and McKay

Maybe Gerard might even don a red n blue scarf if we make the GF, being Demon alumni and all. Won't hold my breath, though

had to duck out so missed the end of the Froe Carlton game. I've just watched the last 5 mins.

the touch would have been difficult for the ump to pick up.

Jackson tapped a ball straight to the Carlton player to set up their go-ahead goal. One of the dumbest taps you will ever see.

Carlton are kissed on the [censored] this year. God help us all if they win a flag. I'll have to move overseas for a couple of months if it happens.

Won't be once they put a chip in the ball for AFL games

Potential to become a pandora's box
