Was listening to Brayshaw and Brownless on the radio this arvo.
Brayshaw declaring he's "happy the best 2 teams are in the GF."
"Well apart from Melbourne who I dunno what happened but, sheet the bed."
The boys are tarnishing their legacy big time.
From GF heros to chokers.- 1

Said to my daughters and wife during the game, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 aaaaaand 7! That's seven kicks in a row straight to our own team mate who barely had to move to take the easy chest mark, I haven't seen our boys do that in a long time. Best bit most of the kicks were under some kind of pressure, not just chipping it around in the backline.
Absolutely loving the skills out of our women's team at the moment, the direct ball movement and the joy they show playing the game we love. They are without doubt providing so much more joy for my family than the men!
Cause they're playing with some exciting attacking flair instead or boring us/me to death with the defence 1st ethic.

I don't like bagging the boys. They've been great but a male equivalent of Hanks changes the game for us. Scott Pendlebury probably the closest comparison i can think of. Always has time and space. Rarely wastes it (although age catching up with him this year)
Reckon she's more dynamic than Pendlebury.
Harder at it.
These days Pendlebury plays like he knows he going home to a $16M mansion with a holiday to the Greek Islands in a couple weeks for some instagram content.
I'm thinking Gary Ablett Jnr.

Holy smoke they're playing great footy.
So clean and fast with hands through traffic.
Would kill for a male version of Hanks for the midfield.
She's always been good but what a gun she's become.

Good post.
We simply couldn't win because of our fwd line being depleted. Also had Gus unfairly removed from the whole game.
We bombed it against the pies without a strong Hogan type player who could make a contest.
If a tired gws side that had a six day break after three interstate games had another tall in their fwd line and not rely just on Hogan they would be in a Gf now.
Pies are bog ordinary and should be smashed by the lions if the Mcg hoodoo isn't a factor.
Lions fwd line should overwhelm the pies defenders .
As for Carlton, we were another fwd down in a young Jvr suspended and blew a lot of chances in a very poorly umpired game with 50m penalties handed out like snickers bars and a lot of frees just simply not paid.
We also made some poor selection choices with Laurie in the QF and not Grundy in the other.
A sad ending with injuries, the Maynard incident and some really poor skills saw us removed in straight sets in a series where a flag was very much there for the taking.
Sheet kicking and stupidity lost us both games.

Toby Bedford runs into an open goal and misses..... How Melbourne!
I was surprised Hogan kicked straight late.
But he's been out of our system longer I s'pose.- 2

Oh well, at least we get to watch collingwood lose a grand final...
I won't be watching.
Just like I wasn't watching last time they lost a GF. -

Well that is a lesson to the dees in how to shut the game down in the last three minutes. Giants (like us) we’re the better team for most of the game but you’ve got to respect that last 3 mins. It was clinical.
Yep.
Time and again they close it down with mauling ball ups.- 2

those umps gave it to them, pathetic decisions to favour pies.
A couple howlers let go that's for sure.
The fix.
I'm surprised Moore didn't get a free late when he took a dive.- 4

Tom Green is a brute of a player. Elevating himself into game’s top 20 this year and finals series.
100%
When he kicked his goal I thought he was a beast of a mid.
Haven't taken notice before.- 1

Our last 4 finals results does suggest mental fragility IMO. The only way to stop it is by playing better football next September.
Our mental fragility goes back alot further than our last 4 finals.
Think decades.

The media don’t give a rat’s about us.
Our brand is boring, monotonous and un-attractive.
If I was the media I'd wouldn't either.

I’m sure many club personnel have seen this and would be looking at it much more forensically than i, so if they are not making noise, then I’m happy with that.
I'd like the club to make less noise in general and just get on with it.
I don't wanna hear what they wanna do.
I just wanna see them do it.
Cause what they're sayin' and what they're doin' are different things. -

Some may be lead to believe that there is a corrupt conspiracy.
A Carlton Collingwood GF would be wonderful for AFL marketing.
I've reminded people before the AFL is a business posing as a competition.
And in the AFL business the best way to boost profits and therefor trigger various executive bonuses is to have the biggest clubs not only winning, but winning finals.- 2

none of the footage shown on the 7 telecast shows conclusively that it was touched.
For them to overrule on that basis is unbelievable.
Two games we have been dudded and 7 times Carlton have received the benefit of the review in the past 4 games.
The AFL is corrupt to the core.
Someone stated in the game day thread early on after a couple soft decisions that the "Fix was in."
As the game wore on the the more obvious it become.
Especially in the last.
But at the end of the day, we forked up.
The game shouldn't have even been close.
Like boxing, if ya KO your opponent the crooked judges are taken out of the equation.
