  1. Oh and here was I thinking it may have something to do with Archbishop Mannix his apparent dislike for the British and his relationship with Wren, but then again I’ve never been clear on this. Thanks for enlightening me.
  2. Interesting topic. I for one am glad the AFL is in charge of scheduling. I consider Collingwood may be very lucky for instance ,to have ANZAC day. They simply didn’t have that many players go to war in comparison to the other clubs. ( Melbourne I believe had the highest participation). But that in itself, may be a totally different discussion? Happy to leave to the AFL to sort out and also agree with PJ’s comments and stance.

    Site Issues?

Also had a problem. Norton bloked a potential virus from a poster I didn’t remember seeing before. Sorry can’t remember details. Just got off site as fast as I can.
  4. Nice bate. I’m absolutely quivering! I wasn’t there but noted that others including Saturday and Rolling Frog considered he was amongst our better players. You dont agree and I note also that he wasn’t shown amoungst the best players. So conflicting opinion and I’ll wait for the match report and I’m certainly not going to can the bloke.
  5. Ill still wait for the report. You can eat them up and spit them out if you like. He’s one of our players and played plenty of good games for us IMO. Im not done with him.
  6. We know at least 2 of them were excellent! What have you brought to the table? Do you have details of his disposal efficiency today? Be nice if we stopped eating our own. I’ll wait for the team report thanks.
  7. Thankyou Red. Forgot about Scott Thompson. Absolutely no case to answer.
  8. All good points. Cats are unlikely to play Collingwood, Tigers, Bombers and Hawks much down there. Bigger supporter based clubs would see a lot of their fans unable to gain entry. I think the cats have been allowed to create a nice little advantage for themselves. We of course, choose to play at The Alice to defray any such home ground advantage accusation.
  9. I don’t think so. I don’t think you should be allowed to touch umpires. AFL just condoned it. So we will see more appeals. Just plain crazy.
  10. Think he’s just got to hit targets and really hurt the opposition with improved disposal. Not much good watching it simply come back over your head. All he has to do is make sure it gets to someone in a better position. Watched him play against the Swans in a big up there a couple of years back when he was a baby. Really cracked in . The big tough Swans back line gave it to him but he just kept presenting. Many other senior players didn’t. Other attributes are strong so he just has to finish. In his own hands. He can do it.
  11. If they don’t they’re devaluing the offence, causing unnecessary confusion and leaving themselves wide open for being accused of introducing yet another kangaroo court. Surely they don’t want that.
  12. I didn’t think you could place a hand on an umpire for any reason, other than it was unavoidable?
  13. I like him, he’s good size and hard enough at it , can kick a goal ,but he just seems to lose concentration at times.
  14. No idea. Just hope they all end up part of a champion group who change the whole external view of our club. Gunna be great when opposition clubs have to worry about all our players in full flight week after week after week.

  16. Far from giving up on him. In form and playing his best, definitely in the best 22. Confident he’ll find his mojo.
  17. Hard act to follow. Outstanding performance.
  18. And what have we got to throw now? Not thrilled by another slow cooked midget looking for a retirement benefit. Lynch is the game changer forget second prize.
  19. I like Jonesy , and believe he is worth his place in the side. He is indeed a great trier and don’t believe he is the problem. He is in our top tier of mids for the moment ( Oliver, Viney, Jones) with Salem and Petracca getting there, but a bit inconsistent. Disagree that Jonesy is the best player in the side now however, father time is catching him and believe he finds it hard to match it and be as destructive some of the top mids(Dangerfield etc) these days. If was looking for the problem ,I believe it rests with the next tier of mids. Who of them is really stepping up?
  20. Don’t know if he’s the problem but he’s just a b grade mid. Our A grade mid should be back in 6-8 which is helpful.
  21. 8 goals and Melksham kicked 4 of those. How many games of footy do you win with 8 goals? Second tier mids have no tricks are slow and can’t score. What do they contribute ?
  22. Reckon weare getting there with the cattle. Last 6 spots , no Viney, T Mac and Father Time problems atm. Have youngsters on the rise in the seconds Weideman, Spargo, Petty We bombed away 2nd quarter against Geelong and got hammered on the rebound. Same last week. Can’t believe the players don’t know what is expected in this regard, or if it has anything to do with game day coaching. IMO not the coach, when we get close to best 22 and digits are out we can get it done. Focus really on a few this week as 1/2 dozen have been carrying us.
  23. The matter of addressing the Collingwood loss last year lasted a long time. Must have really bothered them.
  24. Have no doubt that Max wants to make amends for last year. Same for Oliver, Petracca and Hoges. These blokes truly die for the cause. The rest haven’t shown either a spine or ability. In some cases both. Hunt and Stretch should have been in the side from the start . Both have skills and smarts and Harms , Melksham and others simply don’t. Amazes me the coaches have missed this. Also excited about Viney and TMac being back in about 4 months when we are in about 14th.
