  1. Tell me Brock, did Carlton tank this weekend against lowley Gold Coast Suns in order to have Mick Malthouse replace Brett Ratten? And , if so, will you now be seeking to leave Carlton to join a club that has higher standards?

Or are you just a dumb tool?

We don't need another one of these threads.

Censorship is alive and well on this forum. Who the hell do you think you are to lock a legitimate post?

  3. i sit on the fence when it comes to both Sylvia and Beamer. IF Neeld and the other coaches can see light at the end of the tunnel for them, keep them both. But if their attitudes are as bad as people on Demonland might have you think then yeah, trade away. Its disapointing though, becasue we'd be trading some of our more accomplished and talented players and more than likley be replacing them with lesser lights.

All my non demon mates rate Jamar, Moloney, Davey & Sylvia as our best players. I think its sad that the masses on Demonland are happy to say good riddence to the majority of them.

Then it's all settled then, as your mates clearly know more about MFC than MFC does.

  4. whether it was or was not a free there was other instances where an unwarranted free was given against geelong resulting in a hawthorn goal. for instance the free given against mackie for an in the back in a marking duel 25m out was blatantly wrong. Then there was the missed head high hit on podsiadly by guerra in geelongs forward line when the hawks then went coast to coast for a goal.

net result: i don't think hawthorn got a bad deal from the umpires

I agree, I think Hawthorn got quite favourable treatment from the umpires.

  5. Actually, the reality is these younger blokes need older blokes around, so if you want to get rid of Moloney, Green, Davey etc, what will happen when guys like Viney, Grimes, Trengove, Gysberts etc struggle with their inexperience in games and training, injuries, form... It's been shown how important a mix of age is, and it's been a big focus of Neeld's to get more of that mix, so you may want to tell him how it would be better to get rid of everyone over 26 because in "reality" that's how it is.

So you'd be quite happy to use valuable places in the side to carry these fading players. Face reality. They've been absolutely fantastic for us and deserve to be elevated to legend status, but careers come to an end eventually and these blokes have to face up to this fact. We are not an employment charity but a professional football club and we can't afford the luxury of paying people for their past glories in the hope that it may rub off on the new generation, who incidentally, I believe will bring us a flag. It's unfortunate but that's the sad reality Stu.

  6. I would have loved him as captain this year- I think it would've extended his career at MFC somewhat, however, the young blokes are now the leaders and, unfortunately, it's time for the old blokes, who can no longer keep up, to move on. I have tons of respect for Beamer, Green and Davey et al, they've busted their balls for us but I think the best they can now hope for is to finish their days this year proudly, or fade away after a season at GWS or Suns. That's the reality. Sorry.

  7. Voting for the MFC to merge would be akin to selling off my wife to a career in the porn industry.

If you voted it for it you are disgrace.

    Both then and now.

Some things should always be sacred

Hatchman, do you mean if we voted for your wife to be in the porn industry?

If so, please submit some pics for a vote. ^_^

  8. For over fifty years I've been following this club and, believe me I've seen some brutally insipid, limp performances in that time. One thing that I have learnt over that time is that this club will always find ways of letting it's supporters down and today was no exception. However i just don't know what to make of today's half hearted, gutless, unprofessional and soul destroying game. One thing for sure is that Green and Davey's playing days are well and truly over and it's a no brainer that they should now see out their contracts playing at Casey

One thing that this current group lacks (with a small handful of exceptions) is courage and we next come up against a side that we've been scared of for many years so we can expect another good belting in round two.

These current girls that are playing right now have been given a fresh start with a new, hard, experienced coach and professional back up team and still manage to serve up this tripe. I probably shouldn't call them girls as most of them couldn't compare with some of the women playing in the ladies league. Sady, there's probably only a dozen testicles to be shared around this bunch of talentless turkeys.

I'd made my mind up that this year, I wouldn't purchase a membership until they, the players, proved themselves to me that they were worthy of my dollars rather than me having to prove my loyalty. it was only the death of Jim that made me change my mind and I'm now regretting this.

After all the recent work done by the management and staff of the MFC and the support of the long suffering member, these current players should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm glad I waited a few hours to vent my spleen, otherwise I may have told them what I really think of them.

  9. The more I think about it, the more I convince myself that Beamer may just be perfect for the captaincy role. He has proven through is ability to rebound from what must have been a very humiliating experience with his demotion, that he can up his performance in the face of adversity (or in this case, the weight of captaincy that hit Green) and being a died in the wool Dees supporter all of his life, it MUST be his dream to lead the club and I am sure that would drive him to perform well above his current level. (he could have Jones and Garland as his deputies)

    Here, here!
