Neale Daniher assured us that Chris Lamb had a long future at the club - delisted later that year.

I’m not sure that there’s any correlation between the two things… a lot changes in the way of club culture over a period of 20(?) years or so. I hope he gets his chance.

    That’s a pretty low bar

I think Huddo is a great commentator…he wears his love of the game on his sleeve and is like your mad keen supporter, but one who is able to communicate what he is seeing, in ways well beyond any of us. I’m not worried that his knowledge of the game might not be perfect, as that’s why they have experts on hand to provide their expert comments.

Call me dumb, but I really did not understand any of that. I’m guessing it’s player numbers, in which case, not really being across most of our team’s numbers, I’m completely lost. I’ve got some serious studying to do in the next seven days!! Ā I hope that one day the AFL might see the benefit of putting the player's name on the back of the jersey.šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Should not be picked until his kicking improves.Ā  Some players go through a career being a crook kick.Ā  Expecting them to improve in the firsts does not seem to happen.

He’ll be in the side and likely taking a wing position. His general kicking is pretty good, but at the moment his goal kicking is not good at all.

Fn AFL. Let’s fly a team over on a 4 hour flight then put them in another 2 hr bus ride.Ā

That’s something I couldn’t understand… wouldn’t it have been easier as well as financially more sound, to have had all of these non Victorian club games as home derbies?Ā

he would have simply played today or at worse named as a emergency.Ā

I’m pretty sure he was named as an emergency, but yeah, I agree he’s probably not quite there yet. I do want to see him get a run at some point, but in the meantime, I really liked what Johnson brought… he’s not a particularly elegant player with lots of tricks, but rather a meat and potatoes kind of a player who brings plenty of physicality into the contest, creating a little chaos that sees the ball spilling loose, giving our smaller forwards something to crumb. He’ll only get better and will contribute goals.

He did some good things but he seems to have mastered the panicked dump kick turnover that can be so costly, as it was today. He didn’t have that in his game in the early days.Ā

I thought Bowery looked troubled by the heat and just couldn’t get himself going. He seemed a step off the pace, which is very unlike him. He’ll be much better once the real season gets under way.

Geez we look sloppy today. Yet another afternoon where Treacy and grandpa Walters do as they please.Ā
Not a big fan of the chip/mark game plan in defence. We don’t have the skill for that and it just feels pointless.Ā

Easy misses from Salem, Fritsch, Sharp, AJ and Billings hasn’t helped massage the scoreboard. Billings is so useless, looked defeated as soon as he marked it.Ā
    Ā

Just a praccy match but definitely close to worst case scenario on what I didn’t want to see today.Ā

If there’s just ONE positive that I’m going to take out of today… you have fixed the Bnag in your profile name!!! Now THAT’s cause for celebration!!šŸŽ‰šŸ™ŒšŸ‘

    Fritta went backwards imho.

Not so much because he kicked less goals but he looked like at not a few times,lĀ  he had lost passion. Too many times I saw him jogging after a few opposing players rather than sprint. His tackle count was too low and he seemed to be doing as little as possible.

A shame with Fritta because he is a freak of a talent. I get the same feeling about Kozzie at times. I love the bloke but not convinced he's as yet to give 100 % week in week out.

I’m pretty sure that Fritta was dealing with more than one injury for a large part of the season, and that could have accounted for his appearing disinterested.

Thanks GW, funny there is nothing about the game in the press up here in Singapore.

Strange…I was of the understanding that Casey have a large following in Singapore. I was told by my friend who operates a stall at the Newton Food Centre, that there’s a guy named Hung who does road maintenance around the Johor Causeway area, and who owns a transistor radio that he has permanently tuned into Casey Radio. If you ask around, you might be able to track him down and get some stats.

Oh, and as an aside, my medication seems to be doing its job.

  11. Ok, I decided I’ll have a go at this one. There is no real method to my madness, and my list was built on the assumption that the names that easily sprung into my mind, were the bands that had the biggest affect on me. They are in no particular order, other than the fact that listing one band of individual would trigger memories of other bands, hence the reason that all of the Australian bands of grouped together (again, no specific order within those names).

no one will care long-term about the result a few months .... weeks ... down the track

Whether we supporters or media pundits care or not means nothing, this is about the team taking confidence into future meetings with the Dockers… beat them today and the seeds of belief will be planted.

It'd be preferable. But if Freo thrash us in the next 5 real matches even if we beat them by 30 goals in each pre-season match during that dominance it'll mean nothing. (That said good team and player performance today is preferable.)

Yes, but we need to start somewhere, for our own belief, and a practice match is as good a time as any 😊
