  1. You would want to be putting that on ebay ASAP as there are less than 2 weeks till the event, and there is the possibility it may pass at auction (harder selling single tickets sometimes) and you will have to re-list. Hope your mate will cover it if any problems selling, that's pretty disappointing.. Thiago Silva tested positive but no news if he will be pulled out of Rampage fight. If he does (which he will) Evans to replace. So Rampage V Evans II!
  2. You're kidding me? And I had to get silver off ebay from a dirty poacher?!? Ludicrus! You know what they do don't you? They sell a heap of tickets to Stub Hub, ticket liquidators and other third parties prior to any public sale, who offer the tickets even before the UFC fight club at insane prices, package them up with VIP passes and the like and obviously no one bought them, they still have to sell them; it's all a big scam, they have deals with other ticket sellers, and it's always the little guy who gets screwed!
  3. No they don't, I was always under the impression they sold out in the states, just not as fast as they do here. I guess when you only have an annual event for a whole nation everyone wants a piece- what do the US get, more than 5? Canada sells out quick too. All that kerfuffle over nothing at the end of the day- still can't believe I didn't need a code for the UFC fight club pre-sale. Oh Jones V Shogun is a dream match up. I feel Jones will win but Shogun is a great fighter. It will probably be Cro Cop's last UFC outing too as I expect Shaub to smash him. Would have loved to see Little Nog V Ortiz too but they moved that to a UFC fight night instead. Ortiz is going to get KTFO!
  4. FUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKK!! I had no idea! After the Sots fight I was looking forward to this one the most. A replacement has been found in Brian Ebersole- I had never heard of him, don't think he has fought in the UFC previously but he has won his last 7 fights. Dissapointed. I feel for Rashad blowing out his knee but ecstatic that Jones gets a title shot, I was on this kid the moment I saw him step in the Octagon and now I get to see him go for a title shot in the flesh. Bring on March 19th at the prudential centre Newark! Can not wait!!
  5. Only just watched the event, was a good show- Pat Barry fought well I thought, but yes, definitely saw the Cro Cop envy and that kind of [censored] isn't going to fly with a more skilled opponent. Thought he only done just enough to get himself over the line and I don't think he is skillful enough to toy with his opponents. Great kicks though- take them out of his arsenal and he has nothing. Interested to see who he will be fighting next actually. Winman did look good and they attributed that to his high altitude training which is interesting. He was relentless with his attack, I like Miller as a fighter but thought he made a big mistake round 1 where he tried to pull gaurd- too early, Winman [censored] him with a few elbows and heavy shots and he wasn't the same after that. He can take a hit though. Hominick and Guillard looked brilliant. I thought Poirier recieved a title shot against Aldo for beating Grispi, Grispi was next in line for Aldo but seeing as Aldo was injured and Poirier beat Grispi down, shouldn't he be awarded a title shot? Either way this Featherweight division is going to be a beauty, I think Hominick is going to give Aldo a run for his money and they will line up at UFC 129 apparently (a shame I miss that by one event!) Guillard is looking scary and unbeatable. Sucks to be a lightweight right now. Surely G Sots deserves a title shot if he disposes of Siver.. do we think he will get it? It's taken Fitch forever to receive his.. I have a feeling the proficient strikers are considered more exciting then the ground specialists- hope this doesn't have a bearing on Sotiropolous's chances. He deserves it, and that isn't a bias call.
  6. Anyone care to make any predictions? UFC 126 coming up, what a card, wish this was 127 in Sydney! Silva V Belfort Griffin V Franklin Jones V Bader I'm going for Silva because he is Silva, Franklin over Griffin due to experience and superior stand-up and Jones over Bader because I feel he is the most dynamic and explosive fighter going around. Will all be close matches though. Tough to call! In other news; Couture is taking on Machida at UFC 129 (will lose because Machida is actually good, as apose to Couture's recent opponents) UFC 130 sees the third rematch between Edgar and Maynard, Thiago Silva V Rampage Jackson (holly [censored]) Mir V Nelson and Alves V Story talk about stacked!!! Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos are kicking off at UFC 131- Apparently they are the next coaches on the next series of TUF!!! Which also means the next series of TUF is going to be the heavy weights again!! This sport just gets better! Carwin to fight at 131 also.
  7. Only just finished watching then. Wow, what an event- best event for a long time!! I wouldn't have liked to score that fight but I tend to agree with the tie. Maynard definitely won the first 10-8, could even be argued 10-7.. Edgar took the second, third may have been a tie- give the edge to Edgar 4th and 5th, but my golly gosh it was a close call. Look at it this way- if Maynard didn't smash him in the first it would have been a decision to Edgar. Edgar with more takedowns and submission attempts all round. What a fight! Edgar tank saved him, must be frustrating to fight a guy who is always on the balls of his toes- Which leads us to Guida... hahaha I have never seen movement like that. He didn't want to just stand there and trade with Gomi and I don't blame him- for a guy who usually defends with his chin he didn't want to trade with him- respects the power. Kudos to him for actually finishing the fight like he predicted. Agree with Silva. What an animal- that guy is scary. I also used to like Vera but he can't fight off his back to save his face- last two fights, two visits to the surgeons- Jon Bones Jones cracked his orbital (Will never forget that one) now Silva literally [censored] slapped him into next century. His nose was a sight for sore eyes after that one- vicious break. I think he is done. I respect his standup but you need an all-round game to mix it with the big boys, and that he aint got. Who is Thiago's next opponent? Winner of Bones Jones and Bader? Either way it is going to be insane- (UFC 126 btw- Franklin/Griffen Jon Jones/Bader SILVA/BELFORD what a card!!!) Agree- Crispi would have got owned by Aldo, Poirier very impressive standup, Crispi has some heart- not the best standup. And Stan- wow... I think we have a serious contender here... Can't wait for 126- brilliant card.... Bring on 127 in Sydney.. needing to see this [censored] live please!!
  8. Knew you'd get a "kick" out of that... Seeing as it's a Sunday, more youtube- Great clip this one- Jose Aldo, #1 Featherweight champion of the world, coming from the soon to be defunct WEC, he is now the inaugural UFC Featherweight champion, awaiting his UFC debut (currently recuperating from an injured neck) Winner of the 2009 "Sherdog" fighter of the year, World MMA awards 2010 Charles "Mask" Lewis fighter of the year; And here is why- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lzYIzSAhfo
  9. Hahaha good call! I could just watch that clip again and again and again. And I have.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH7oRb5Knjc&feature=player_embedded Little kick off the wall from the WEC... brilliantly awesome!!!
  11. I feel moving up a weight class is no disadvantage as compared to dropping a weight class. Cutting weight is what makes fighters weaker... I'm sure everyone loves a few extra steaks and chips!
  12. First thing I need to say; Riddell hahaha OMG... gave the "Korean Zombie" a nice run for his money... have to admire a guy who gets punched in the face as much as him, yet still pushes the pace untill the last bell.... Insane, sure- Frustrating though as if he mixed up his strikes he would have had a lot more success than his ridiculous 1/2 combos... was that fight of the night? Got my vote. Fight could have gone either way, think Pearson stole it with the late takedown. Thiago Alves back in town. He needed that win and made Howard look second rate, that was some vicious standup- he looks crisp again and strong. Joe "daddy" Stevens... hahahah OMG... that knock out reminded me of Silva Vs Leben... knocked out by a counter jab on the back foot, classic- I hated Mac Danzig on TUF but the kid has the goods in the Octagon, can't argue with that. Who's banging on about GSP being the best P4P fighter, the French Canadians? Silva is the best P4P fighter in the world... the guy is a f*cking superhuman freak who can literally play with his opponents (barr Sonnen) would be very interested in a GSP Silva fight, and GSP's inability to end fights will probably be the difference. Silva will destroy him in reach anyway- no contest for me.. Looking forward to Silva V Belfort. Could possibly be interested in that spare UFC ticket you have Demon16... PM me with details? Cheers
  13. Nice little picture I found on the Internets... wish I could do work like this-
  14. Agree with all that, Maia's standup has improved a little. Lets be honest though, all those middle weights are merely waiting for Silver to retire- Sonnen proved that the man just isn't human! God I hope GSP knocks the crap out of Koscheck- one for the good guys! Imagine that douchbag (my favourite American insult) with the belt. God help us all!! On a sort of related note I am going to start MMA training in Narre Warren next year. Excited!
  15. Skimmed over the thread again- good predictions!
  16. Finale is up booooiy!!! Yeah, disappointed I didn't get to see the backyard biffo I was promised at the end of the first ep... what's up with that? Usually when there is a punch up outside of the octagon it results in instant disqualification.. maybe they decided to brush over it and pretend it never happened.... I really don't know. In any case Koscheck should have been thrown off for starting the male nurse... He has to be the thickest bloke going around! Took great joy in none of team Koscheck making it to the finale, only thing to top that is when GSP knocks his arse out! Nam Phan to fight featherweight? Is that the same division Aldo is coming into? Anyway I was impressed with Nam Phan, I think Johnson pulled one out of the bag though, his standup was wild and unrelenting, he found a couple of new levels and if he can fight the same he is a real chance. In saying that though Brookins has been my favourite since his first fight, he has awesome Judo. Well d/l now, 1.4gb file... should be done by 12 FFS!! No spoilers.. i'll check back here Monday evening..
  17. Anyone catch ep 11 & 12 of TUF? Nam Pham didn't do himself any favours the night before the fight.... talk about gassing yourself out! Hahah good stuff, what a series.... favourites for the finale?
  18. So you went to 110 did you? Awesome, tickets were 300?? Jeez... how did you go about purchasing your tickets? I checked out the UFC fight club and it says presale can only be bought for Canadian or US event..?? I signed up for the ticketmaster early list, whatever that is, and apparently Stubhub deal with UFC directly so i'm checking out their site also. How was the view from 25 rows back? Did the cage obscure your view at all?
  19. Yeah saw it- Falcao looked awesome. Very patient, lightning quick hands. Boring fight for one and a half rounds but Falcao's offence is unstopable. Harris got deregistered from the UFC after that fight too, btw. F*ing pumped about UFC 127, BJ coming- anyone know what the deal is with ticket arrangements ie how to get them first and how many you can buy at the one time? Sots will beat Siver but I hope to hell he doesn't stand with him. Siver took out Winner- who is lightning quick with good standup, Siver German kickboxing champion, but then again Sotiropolous hasn't been stopped yet. Can't wait for this! Machida is a beautiful fighter, I could watch him go all day. He is very evasive- all part of a good defence. I can see how some people could get frustrated by this. I think the fight was close, and Machida probably should have won, but I was surprised by Rampage's reaction; I didn't think he 'got wooped'.. Machida killed him in the third, the first 2 rounds were pretty even, Rampage got a takedown in the first.. it can't be just because of that? Rampage a classy man- suggesting rematch when he has no need to. Such a differencce between him and that Douch of a man Koscheck! Edson Barboza with the leg kicks btw... I love seeing fights stopped by leg kicks! PS- Jose Aldo forced out of 125 due to back problems... 127 debut anyone?
  20. http://www.neoskosmos.com/news/en/UFC-Sotiropoulos-triumph?page=2 I'm sure we will wake up to our senses- being "the sporting capital of the world" and all.. It's ashame that is't considered such a barbaric sport by the pollies, i'm sure a bit of re education will set them straight, UFC is no more dangerous than Aussie rules football- as crazy as that sounds. It's professional and expertly adjudicated. We all know this anyway. I missed Sydney, couldn't get tickets!! I have heard if you sign up to become a member of the UFC (don't think it costs very much at all) you get access to tickets a day before the general public, or something like that. I think the details are somewhere on the UFC site when you arrange to purchase tickets or something. Will have to look into that, as if anyone wants tickets to the next UFC they will sell bloody quick. And I'll be [censored] if I miss this one!! They are considering doing an Ultimate fighter series down here aswell ffs.. they are taking that global!! This sport is about to skyrocket here... Anyone gonna try out??
  21. Yep, Lesnar was classy in defeat, and he was classy in victory against Carwin. He changed since he got sick, it made him humble. It's funny because I thought Brock would be sitting ontop of the heavyweight tree for a while too, then he got owned like that! Whoever takes Valasquez down is going to have to be well rounded. Carwin/Dos Santos have a great punchers chance, but not that much else to take to him. I actually think if fat Country gets a crack he could do alot better than people think. He has cardio as deceptive as it seems. Mir also has the game to take Valasquez out but he would have to put in a better effort than he did against Cro cop (even though he won). He looked great against Kongo- tore him apart in stand up. Beat Cro Cop in stand up only (even though Cro cop is done).. Still some life in the heavyweights. Cant wait for Rampage v Machida. I'm tipping Machida. Love Rampage but Machida is class, he should bounce back. Sotiropolous on that card too. He should beat Lauzon and get closser to a title shot... which may coincide with another UFC downunder (they are coming here again, did you go?) Just done a bit of future gazing... check this out; UFC 126.. bouts being worked on; A. Silva Vs Belfort (finally!!) Jon Jones Vs Bader (epic) Griffin Vs Franklin Florian Vs Dunham Never heard anything about a Hamill movie.. that would be weird seeing as he still competes wouldn't it?
  22. No [censored] hey?! Wasn't expecting that kind of domination... What a f*cking card though? Tito got his face smashed in, Sanchez is back in town and did you see Brendon Shaub? Jeez hes improved! Shields lucky for the win.. no ground and pound, no striking in general.. boring. Heavyweight division wide open! I think Dos Santos next challenger, then winner of Fat Country and Carwin next? At least a Carwin Dos Santos fight is possible. Bloody exciting stuff!
  23. Hahaha missed it by that much! Yeah, I was a massive fan of Carwin and thought he was going to take it, but to Lesnars credit he (only just) survived the ground and pound and took it by submission in the second. Gained massive respect for Lesnar after that fight as Carwins power is literally ground shaking. Would love a Carwin v Lesnar rematch but too many are waiting in line for a heavy weight shot. Ufc 121 is on as we speak- if Valesquez can't get the job done Dos Santos is waiting. That will be massive. Carwin meanwhile has Roy Nelson next. Do you watch the Ultimate fighter series? Big Country is a whale of a man but he has heart and experience. If his head can withstand a Carwin punch he is a freak and in with a chance as he is very experienced and had Dos Santos worried.. interesting matchup.. 121 is a massive card= Gonzaga, sanches, thiago, Kampmann, Shields, Yvel, more ultimate fighters.. huge. Edgars looking unstopable btw, your boy BJs not looking so dominant anymore.. fun times ahead
