also hoping straussy has a speedy recovery n can get back on the G next year, was starting to look at home down back in his few games before he broke his leg
-
agree with this, neeld has identified we lack height down back n forward for that matter, hopefully sellar is the man for the job! also agree with mephis that tappy mite be used higher up the ground, if not midfield would love to see his grunt work on a HFF. I see bleasy staying back just for the minute until he gets a tank which allows him to play in the middle. cannot wait for his run n carry out of the backline next year!

In 2012 there may not be a "best 22" at all. It may depend to a large extent on who we're playing.
Against a tall forward line, our "best 22" could include Sellar, with he and Martin in defence.
To avoid being outmuscled in the midfield again, we'll load up with muscle, and our "best 22" could include Bate, Tapscott, even MacDonald or Bartram in the midfield.
If we need speed, we load up with speed - Blease, Bennell, Jetta.
And whatever games Gys & Bennell manage to get, I bet they won't play against Hawks or Pies for the next 2 or 3 years.
I bet we'll be much more strategic. More players will have specific roles, we'll put a lot more effort into countering opponents' strengths & exploiting their weaknesses and select accordingly.
jetta is actually quite slow, agree with everything you've said bar that

Anyone else just see Alistair Lynch slip up on AFL Insider just then? They were all talking about compensation to clubs who loose their players to GWS and naturally Scully's name was mentioned and then Lynch who works for Scully's management team stated there will be a decision made by the end of the week, thank god!

Out: BARTRAM, Joel MacDonald, Dunn.
IN: Tom McDonald, Jetta, Jurrah.
edit: forgot Dunn.
Joel Mac? You've gotta be kidding me, one of our only honest footballers week in week out! Is vital to our side atm.

been watching him play a while now, has got serious talent, all the attributes to make it at the top level, yes he is skinny but has broad shoulders and on the right program I feel could fill out. 100 goals in any league is a huge achievement, yes its only division 3 but he can only perform at the level his team's playing at. not many kids his age would deal with the brute bodies of an amateur league, and at 6'5 his pace is quite rare. leads well, grabs well. the kid can play and it was only last week that I saw collingwood recruiters watching his games, could do a lot worse and at a rookie pick we're not giving up much
