  1. This kid is rated as the clear number 2 at the moment. I have to admit that his size is an issue for me. We have had too many skinny kids in recent years and look set to pick up Stretch next year who looks to be a bit of a beanpole too.

So I did a bit of looking around at some old phantom drafts to compare to others his size when drafted.

    CALLAN WARD 184cm 73kg Now - 185cm / 83kg

    Will Hoskin-Elliot 186cm, 73kg Now- 186cm /76kg

    Chad Wingard 182cm, 77kg Now - 182cm / 78kg

    Devon Smith - 175cm, 76kg Now 174cm / 76kg

    Hamish Hartlett- 182cm, 74kg Now - 185cm / 83kg

    Stephen Coniglio / 182cm / 76kg Now - 182cm / 81kg

    Sam Blease - Midfielder - 183cm, 72kg Now - 184cm / 77kg

    Stephen Hill - Midfielder - 182cm, 72kg Now - 182cm / 82kg

    Jake Melksham 182cm / 70kg Now - 186cm / 84kg

    Dan Hannebery - Midfielder - 182cm, 75kg Now 181cm / 81kg

    David Zaharakis - Midfielder - 180cm, 73kg Now 185cm / 85kg

    Tom Scully - Midfielder - 182cm / 74kg Now - 181cm / 78kg

    Ryan Bastinac 183cm / 74kg Now - 184cm / 84kg

    Lachie Whitfield - 184cm / 74kg Now - 187cm / 75kg

Verdict: His size wont matter if he is good enough.

    Scully has shrunk? Haha

  2. Now I will preface this with:

No I wasnt at the game. Ive only seen some of it replayed. Ive listened to a friend who did go.

and Im a littel biased as ive never been impressed by C.S.

Col Sylvia was playing his "trumpeted" 150th

Col Sylvia is supposedly looking for another charitable handout from the MFC

Col Sylvia managed 16 possessions . That included NO marks and NO tackles

is this guy just full of [censored] or what....honestly

Let him go, cut our losses. Hes not what we need.

Come again? He had 6 tackles.

  3. I'd imagine any pick involved in the transfer would be a cushion to lighten the blow of anti-expansion club sentiment that will surely follow ;)

    Franklin AND 1st-round pick?

Only an expansion club could afford to do that. And the Hawks should be able to get a pick. GWS has a distinctive advantage in its first few years because it has the flexibility to pay so much, something an equally poor-performing, established club like Melbourne couldn't fit within the cap. If GWS had been around for 10 years, it wouldn't have this money to throw at Franklin.

I think it would be only Hawks fans against him leaving for pick 20, I'd have a laugh, hell, they tanked to get him in the first place.

  4. Our perfomances show we wont get a PP.

Surely he would take the cash. Hawks would be nearly be pushing him out, how can they lose if they get no 1 pick.

GWS dont need another young foward. They need experience, a star and a marketing tool.

Remind me again how many games have we won in the last 7 years.

  5. I know SOS is pretty dumb, but why would he trade the no 1. pick for Buddy when he can get him for nothing via Free Agency?

The Hawks should get compensation in the same way that other clubs have, and ~pick 20 is what that means. We got basically SFA for Rivers and Moloney.
