Had a day out against us.
Kennedy? Last year? 9 disposals and a behind is hardly a day out.

According to the AFL Prospectus Champion data players at TAC who do not win enough of there own ball tend not to make it at AFL despite their Junior Comp disposal numbers. They said Toumpas and Morton were relatively low 'win own ball' juniors despite high numbers. Our recruiters at the time were obviously not aware of this. Since those days its no coincidence that its largely been ball winners. Oliver is a ball winning beast. Evidently Parish can win his own ball as well. By reports Oliver has more pace than Parish and also more size.
Parish also wasn't much of a tackler at U18 level either, and seemed to get brushed aside even in that comp.

Been talked up a lot on the training reports etc. on the MFC which tells me they are a fan of him and he will play Round 1, mark my words.
Wonder what position they plan to play him? Went very well as an inside mid at VFL level, but he's way too small to play that role at AFL level, certainly not a small forward at this stage either. Hopefully he shows more than he did at Collingwood, which was nothing.

Were the current recruiters involved with the Toumpas pick? I thought Taylor came in after that?

Other than being new to the club, not sure what Kennedy has done to get an I/C gig on so many teams, has shown nothing at AFL level. Needs to earn it at Casey unless he dominates NAB cup or we have a long injury list, don't really need more short players with poor footskils.

Watched Kennedy throughout yesterday's training and saw no similarity with Toumpas other than he had two legs and was wearing footy boots!
Never said they were similar style players etc. The only comparison I made to Toump was lack of composure: if you watched Kennedy's AFL games last year: he s**ts himself every time he goes near the ball, Toumpas style. Toumpas always looked a million bucks at training too. Again, hope I'm wrong. Thanks for the training reports.

Ben Kennedy will be the surprise packet of 2016. Watch this space.
Disagree, poor skills and Toumpas-esque composure is all he demonstrated last year. Hope I'm wrong.

I'd like to go around again, was in Stynes last year I think, Muppets 1st XVIII, thanks for organising DeeVoted

Can we donate Terlich and Matt Jones to them?

With Melksham, Bugg, Kennedy, Frost, Petracca and Oliver coming in whilst only really losing Cross and Howe- I'd say Jack is going to find it tougher than he ever has to get games in 2016.
Kennedy is tiny, has poor skills and terrible composure, I doubt he'll be keeping Watts out of the team, he'll more likely be in competition with Matt Jones and Terlich. Hopefully the others make it tough for him though.

It's ok, Dr Nick reattached it...
Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. Hhahahaha

Gysberts was the only real dud selection there, taken way before expected, thanks Barry.

, but he moves very well in traffic .
Does he? Shat himself Toumpas style in traffic in his few AFL games this year. Hopefully things will change.
-
Anyone else not excited by Kennedy?
Very unexcited that we headhunted a fringe player. Nice to see he thinks he can make an impact, but if he thinks he's come here for more opportunity and will waltz into the side, I hope he has to earn it well and truly at Casey,

From AFL site... Best 22.
B: Neville Jetta, Tom McDonald, Colin Garland
HB: Christian Salem, Lynden Dunn, Jake Melksham
C: Angus Brayshaw, Nathan Jones, Dom Tyson
HF: Dean Kent, Jesse Hogan, Christian Petracca
F: Jeff Garlett, Chris Dawes, Jack Watts
Foll: Max Gawn, Bernie Vince, Jack Viney
Int: Sam Frost, Aaron vandenBerg, Heritier Lumumba, Tom Bugg
DEPTH
Key-position defenders: Oscar McDonald
General defenders: Jack Grimes, Dean Terlich, Josh Wagner*
Key-position forwards: Liam Hulett, Cameron Pedersen, Sam Weideman
General forwards: Jay Kennedy-Harris, Jayden Hunt, Billy Stretch, Joel Smith*
Midfielders: James Harmes*, Matt Jones, Viv Michie*, Alex Neal-Bullen, Ben Newton, Clayton Oliver, Jack Trengove, Mitch White*,
Rucks: Jake Spencer, Mitchell King, Max King*
Melbourne's team is starting to look a lot more promising and secure. The backline is consolidated with Essendon recruit Jake Melksham to add further competitiveness and run and carry away from the contest. Christian Petracca's inclusion should be a major fillip for the Demons after he missed his entire first season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The points of contention start on the bench with Greater Western Sydney recruit Tom Bugg earning a game over line-breakers Ben Kennedy and Billy Stretch. Jack Grimes can count himself unlucky not to be picked, while Jack Trengove's injury history rules him out of the mix. Alex Neal-Bullen, Jay Kennedy-Harris and Clayton Oliver should all push for regular senior appearances in 2016. – Ben Guthrie
Kennedy not even in the depth list. I like it.

Taylor hasn't put a foot wrong yet.

Don't know how anyone could have Kennedy anywhere near best 22 at the moment, especially as a small forward which he just is not.
-
I don't know much about Mitch's history in juniors, but to me he looks like he grew up playing as a midfielder and then had a later growth spurt....a bit like Troy Simmonds did from memory.
GC's Tom Lynch did this too, would be nice if it goes the same way.
-
Knightmare has him as 1 of only 4 players he considers as top 5 on list quality. Good enough for me. He has a better eye for talent than any of those journos who "follow" the tac cup/championships imo.
He had Toumpas in that category too mind you. Taylor hasn't put a foot wrong since he's been here though, no doubt he's made the right choices.
They had an air of disappointment about them when it came their turn to pick Parish.
Really? Seemed Worsfold couldn't read his name out quick enough.
