The Free Agency/Trade/Draft Rumour File
Prodigal_Son replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
While playing pool last night a bloke told me that he'd been told that Malthouse is trying to get Fev back at Carlton. -
Negative body language, a lack of communication and lack of care for each other have been hallmarks of Melbourne’s game for far too long. It is the reason Daniher’s teams didn’t cause damage in September. 6 final series in ten years with the lack of cash, fascilities and political situation he had to face was agreat effort. Imagine what he could have done with the support provided in the last 2-3 years.

Good line, Sadly showing my age that I get this

I was at training yesterday and davey was still favouring his left leg (I think) at the end, though he was kicking with it earlier on.

What was the first VFL/AFL Melbourne game you attended?
Prodigal_Son replied to Wilson7's topic in Melbourne Demons
My first game was GF 1957 only problem was I wasn't to be born for another 3 months. Either mum or I got a bit excited and I tried to make an early break for it, she ended up in St Andrews hospital until December when I finally arrived. The First game I remember was with my Great Aunt (an ex carlton supporter who became a rabid dees supporter) in 1970 against Carlton, I had followed Barrasi to Carlton as a 7 year old and she was determined to liberate me back to the demons- she won. -
Melb v Carl 1991 Round 19 highlights
Prodigal_Son replied to waynewussell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks For someone who was OS during the 90's they are great to see. What about the condition of the ground, they'd call it off todaybecause of OH&S. -
I like scully but his kicking has a long way to go Bruce probably is a better kick
-
Sure looked like it meant something to the players from both sides. Mick was as animated as he is in any afl game. I personally think its quite a good game to watch.

From Herald sun today "Ireland coach Anthony Tohill, who suffered a broken leg when he tried out with Melbourne in 1991, said there was no honour in winning from being violent or over aggressive".

THE KASPERSKY CUP SHANGHAI SHOWDOWN
Prodigal_Son replied to rusty_kingswood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes thanks everyone who posted that win seemed to come out of nowhere -
They said on the radio that James McDonald has done his hamstring as well as Jones
-
Very different side this week with at least 8 changes due to injury or have retired.
-
Don't you mean "Go Ps".
-
Thanks for that tip fantastic to watch
-
It was the worst decision but it led to one of the best comments I've heard at the footy. "Caught! @##**## Fevola should be charged for trying to give Grimes aids!"
-
I wonder if davey won't play? He was having a lot of work on his hamstring last week

bonus points system for AFL games.
Prodigal_Son replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't remember it making a difference as a player and as a supporter it was quite confusing. Originaly there was a lot of enthusiasm for the system but it waned because it was regarded as an unneccesary complication. I have a feeling that they were trialing it on behalf of the VFL but don't quote me. I'm glad you brought it up because I haven't thought about it for years. -
bonus points system for AFL games.
Prodigal_Son replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
This system was trialed in the Farrer League back in the late 70's early 80's and from memory the ladder positions ended up exactly the same as if it was 4 points and percentage. So they discontinued it. -
Melbourne at Casey Fields - Saturday March 13
Prodigal_Son replied to dee-luded's topic in Melbourne Demons
Does anyone know what time? -
I love the kids question of the night, the rest all sounds depressing
-
I could rephrase it to say I love carlton even less than collingwood and you couldn't love collingwood
-
I was like your brothers but came back to melbourne when RDB left carlton I probably like collingwood more than carlton now
-
If he has a good year at Port I wouldn't be surprised if he was picked up in next years draft. He was unlucky that he was uncontracted and a couple of others were.
