  1. No chance.

Junior is up there with my favourite players to ever wear the Red and Blue but, sadly i watched him play at Elsternwick Park in the A Section prelim final on Sunday and he is very much past it now.

I hope he doesn't play, i want to remember him as a Melbourne great.

  2. While I think he'll stay, does he have the mental fortitude to decline 12 and a half desks a year over 5 years?

By the end of his 5 years in GWS, he could've racked up 62 of them. Maybe more.

    This is gold.

Can we make it a rule on this site that from now on we have to measure all contract consideration in desks?

Would certainly weed out the "Noobs."

  3. i don't give a [censored] what he appreciates, I follow the club not him and if he doesn't want to be a pat of it then so be it. We need to be able to plan what we are doing at seasons end and if we can do some deals with the potential draft selections we will get then let's do it.

This has been a drain on our club for most of the season and the fact we made public our offer to him has made the situation even worse. How can we push the club in the press when they are only interested in one thing?

I never run away from a problem, I face it, but I guess you choose a different path.

    HEAR! HEAR!

This is beyond a joke now. Either get on board or get the f#^% out of the way.

  4. I agree. He is behind Eade, Malthouse and Clarkson for mine but, i still think he would be a good fit.

With regard to people that call him a [censored], this isn't a popularity contest. We are trying to get into the finals and win a premiership. I wouldn't care if Ivan Milat were coach as long as our boys are successful.

  5. I have thought this for some time.

People may not like Grant Thomas but he has runs on the board. St Kilda were flying under him and he took them to a number of preliminary finals from memory and was only unceremoniously dumped by egotistical in fighting at St Kilda (Butters).

He is a tough, uncompromising man and i think that he would be a near perfect fit (behind Clarkson and Malthouse)for our young list.

He doesn't put up with weak characters and players that won't play for each other and more importantly the jumper.

We need a hard-nosed coach who doesn't sugar coat things and can demand committment.

  6. I never said that they can't have a drink.

I'm saying i'm surprised that they don't have the brains to realise that it isn't a great look to be out on the town after such a pathetic showing while representing the financial members of this once great club.

They would have been better advised to give it a rest this week and perhaps have a drink in private with the other players. I'm pretty disappointed to see that they wouldn't have the common sense to know that.

I agree wholeheartedly that they are human and are allowed to have a drink.

It doesn't come across well for the group if they are out on the town after such a disgraceful showing.

I'm surprised that people think it is appropriate for them to do so.

  7. Why are they not allowed to go out? You were out after the loss! Seriously get a life. The one night a week they can go our and have a few beers and you want them home in bed.

The best course of action would have been the whole team go out and have a few beers together and work there sh... out.

    Yeah you're right.

Sorry i forgot to be a stereotypical, apathetic, Melbourne supporter.

  8. I was out on Saturday night at a birthday in Chapel Street and almost spat my beer all over the bloke in front of me when i saw Jared Rivers and Nathan Jones amble into the bar.

    Could not believe it...

What is going on down at AAMI Park? Are these people morons? If i had put up such an insipid effort i wouldn't want to show my face in public for at least 24 hours let alone go and have some drinks at a night spot. As i am a Melbourne supporter I was incredibly disheartened to see this.

Am i alone here in thinking that something stinks with this? Do these blokes give a $#!t?

  9. This whole affair is cheap, nasty and downright boring.

I can't help but think that the thugs in the scallop industry are behind this.

Tom was born and spawned on this game selling drinks and dixie ice creams in bay 13 and through guts and determination ran out onto that mighty arena.

  10. Very difficult to watch today...

I can't help but think that no matter what happens, we will all remember this saga.

This hasn't endeared him to the supporters of this great club and in my opinion his reputation may never recover.
