That was very noticeable DV.  On at least one occasion i saw him initially get a rush of blood when he saw an opening ahead and ran a little only to check himself and give the ball off quickly to someone open on the angle.

    Kudos to Troy Chaplin here

He actually played, last year, very much like Hunt did.  Manic run & carry, without thinking.  pigeon pair.

Lets hope Hunt can work this out, as well.

No. Carlton's Ralph was a shooting star. Did nothing.

Dean got injured and lost a career. Look at how he starred in the 87 finals. Could kick long but could also take a mark at CHF and could move at ground level..

Warren Dean.  Yep.   He played mostly on the flank, But i think he did play at chf for periods in games, or one or two games.

6'-3" tall and wiry thin.  A very mobile and running tall, who could drift across packs. And a long kick of the footy.

A good marking player around the ground.

Prone to injury.  Came in with Spalding, and Ray ????

    2 genuine busts there.

Kennedy Harris when we could have had Ben Brown.

Hulett when we could have had Menegola.

Still don't think the Kelly trade was a bust Salem is playing good footy unfortunately Tyson isn't.

Tyson helped the club steady the team, at the time of recruitment.

And is still quite a good footballer today.

Salem is really starting to burn.

The best thing is to trade him, and use the proceeds to acquire others.

No.  What I want (and you cannot tell me what it is I want)  is to get class midfielders and pace, into our list.

The means of howe we do this, is what I believe your referring to...  and I am open to other suggestions, as to how we can get these experienced topline Mids onto our list,  this 2018, and next year.

I CAN tell you what it is you want.... Because you already TOLD us what you want. You see how to use the quote button? PLEASE stop using it on my posts. You've said nothing new for, what are we up to? 8 quotes now? When you come up with something new that ISN'T idiotic mindless babble about trading the best forward we've had since Neitz... THEN feel free to post away. But even then, please... Let me type this nice and slow now since you've ignored it yet again... DO NOT QUOTE ME.

    So here we ware again.

What I want is to get class Mids onto OUR list.  the easiest way we can.

I think what you want in all this is just to be malicious.

Let me put it this way...  I like Jesse Hogan... and I am virtually the first on here to push for us to recruit him,,, in the very first place when he was a 17Yr old, or younger !

Now I was also the one pushing for us to recruit Weideman.

I was also the main one pushing for us to play TMc as a CHF/Follower,,, when we got injuries to Gawn and Spencer.

And now it is,  I am pushing for us to recruit a topline classy experienced mid... but the key to doing this is,,, what have we got to use to satisfy another club. If we identify a player that suits these needs.

So you see, what I want are classy mids, in RednBlue_  Not to trade out a player who I really like.  The crux is, we have to give up something, to get something we really need.

So I am trying to be creative.

What is it you think you are trying to do?

You absolutely DO want to trade him. Go back over our recent messages and your "play Weed, trade Hogan" stuff and say with a straight face that you DON'T want him to be traded.

VDB will cop a fine at worst. Low impact and looked accidental so careless

Hang on, why then doesn't  the west coast guy also cop a sanction then. they were both arriving at the drop at the same time one was higher off ground.

AVB went low as he doesn't launch high.

Pointing out facts, DV. You should be used to it by now.

For your information I have been considering the possibilities of a Hogan trade,  for at least 2 Yrs now.

Its not that I really want to trade him, but sometimes the need outweighs the in-house value.

Truth be known, Jesse is best out at CHF, playing that old David Schwartz role.  He is not a deep F/Forward.

On the other hand, 'Weide' will be very good deep forward.   And with smalls players at his feet.

Now, with these forwards, and Tmac as well....  who plays CHF just as well as Hogan;.... what else do we have as options, to get the class Mids into the lineup, which we need.

So, there's some more facts, for you to chew on.

He can’t take pack marks so any decent team can easily nullify him up forward

He can take pack marks, swyl...  but mostly, he needs a run and jump to do it.

Playing one out deep isn't Jesse's best option.   They double team him, and edge him under the ball.  especially when we bomb it in.

High ball marks aren't his strength.

What I object to is fairweather supporters who call for his trade after one bad performance,

How do you know fairweather supporters,,, have a sudden urge after one (in your words, 'bad performance').  Are you assuming again DD?

Other teams have players with X-Factor who can turn a game in a few acts (i.e. Buddy, Cyril - until he retired, Danger, DeGoey etc) - who is our player?

    Maybe Melksham?

We don't have many,,, if any... with the  'X

Which is a good thing, while we build the engine room.

The engine room needs to be almost a finished project, prior to making scoring easier.  The engine room needs to establish its work-rate and team ethics, while its tough going.

Hence Jeffy out and 'wattshisface' left the building.

Kenty as well, has had to learn the hard way... as is Hannan.

    When will 'tracca' learn.?

I don't think I'd bring in Jeffy ever, let alone "just yet". I'm very sceptical about his required performance in big games, and there's nothing bigger than finals.

If Jeffy ever decides to put in just 50% of Nev's effort......  then he'd be straight in.

As it is lately, he's like a spoilt kid.

Needs to pull the sulky attitude out of his, wherever he holds it, and help the cause.

I listen to the wireless. Sadly Tony Dalroy is leaving ABC after 25 ,years. Is great comfort to hear all the way here in Vietnam.

Also caught 5 AA call of our game.

Tony Dalroy. ABC on wireless in Vietnam.

Any chance you can get the radio call of the '64 GF  over there,,, for us?

Not sure about resting Fritsch. He's one of the few players who actually kicks to advantage.

Nope. Fritsch will have to wait for the bye round now, for a rest.  He is coping better than Spargo.  Must be his more mature body.

Spargo needs 2 weeks off to freshen up.

We will need him in the finals...  his midfield directing of the footy is important.

He seemed to have checked out after requesting leave to go home late last year for a personal bereivement. When he came back it seemed his heart wasn't in it any more. His only good game was against Brisbane earlier this year.

aah, is that what it is.???

I can believe that.  is Jeffy grieving?

What? He is consistently marking a release kick on the boundary. Week after week.

He's not covering enough kilometers at speed. I want to see a little less 'burst'.....  and more gut run, with sprints with the ball. I think he plods about the field too much.

He needs to lose some weight in puppy fat, and trim back to lean muscle.  He is a naturally powerful man.  That will remain in him.

Disagree on Petracca. 0 tackles laid

    Petracca is overrated around Mfc.

He gets a lot of latitude given, because of his touted talents.

Well I haven't seen him rip-open a game. yet.   Put up, or shut up, tracca.

He's more like a little quad bike, than some sort of truck.

The thing that typifies harmes improvement is how many times he is breaking tackles. 12 months ago he was the guy repeatedly getting caught and pinged for holding the ball. Just seems to be so much stronger on his feet

Your right, he was to.. but he was trying to raise his level, he was taking them on.  taking the game on.

    And he's succeeding.
