  1. He may not sit at the table, but i bet he would have as much input as any one at the team. And Collingwood would not let him near their table.

True but problem is Collingwood can control him and he will watch the matches and players they want him too not the ones we need him to.

  2. Crazy situation. He could quite easily make a list and carelessly leave it somewhere for Viney to find but

1 do Collingwood trust him enough to involve him completely in there process and

2 If he is still working for Collingwood they won't have access to picks as early as us and therefore won't spend as much time as we should analyzing the best 5 players

  3. Some encouraging signs, although he didn't go low or hard enough twice (I've only seen the second half). He definitely shows enough to suggest he can become a regular.

I saw twice where he could of gone lower and harder also but at his experience level with his history i can forgive it, hopefully he can iron that and a few other things out of his game and become a solid player.

  4. Thought Sam looked pretty good today against the Swans. Didn't do a hell of a lot but has awesome pace and best I've seen him play by a long margin.

    Something to work with here.

  5. Am i the only person that is confident of Greeny having a really good year this year?

With Clark Watts and Jurrah (hopefully all fit) taking the 3 best defenders then adding in Sylvia and Howe also demanding opposition attention, Green will be further down the list of priorities for opposition than ever before.

This is where he will be most dangerous I remember a game last year, (can't think of who against but am thinking port maybe) Green was matched against someone in about their seventh game and was far too talanted and smart for him. Every time the ball came near them Green out marked him.

I can see this happening again early this year and Green running with all year and having another year like 2010.

  6. Anyone know what Brett Deledio's movements were during the month of October?

I was on the same plane as him flying to L.A in early October. I thought it was strange he was only flying economy class. Could be he is a little bit of a miser and is looking for more money.

  7. Not sure if many will agree with me but i wouldn't mind Lachie Hansen. I'd only be willing to give up our second round pick and a Maric or Warnock and no doubt North would want more.

I just think in a new enviroment with the right coaching and some confidence he could develop into a good contested marking forward.

  8. If i remember back to Queens birthday Dawes was good enough to touch up Rivers. Had a dominant midfield on his side and only kicked 1 goal 3 behinds from his 18 disposals but i do remember thinking he played really well. 8 marks and 6 tackles that day do suggest a strong work ethic.

He would no doubt be in our best 21 also, I wouldn't give too much up for him in a trade but dangle a nice looking contract in front of him and if he wants to come to us the pies can't demand too much for him.

  9. A friend of mine who was at the recent foundation heroes dinner has said that he asked Tapscott, who was on his table, if Scully would stay, to which he replied "he's gone". No proof, but I'm starting to believe that he will be gone next year, and I don't blame him, its a lot of money and his knee problems suggest that he wont have a very long AFL career. Does anyone know, for a fact, whether or not we will get 1 or 2 picks for him if he does sign with GWS?

Never thought i'd way into this thread as i also was sure he would say but this week have lost some confidence im probably about 50/50 now.

At the risk of throwing another stupid rumour out there as i have no idea about how he would know but here goes. A work mate of mine is a family friend of the Cotchin's and apparently Cotchin says Scuuly is going for sure.

  10. Agree they really need to sharpen up there skills but a lot of that also comes down to confidence. In your own and your teammates abilities. West Coast had the worst skills in the league last year and it earned them the wooden spoon now the same players mostly are looking at top 4. Confidence is what we need.

I was just a weekend warrior playing in a low level comp but Bartram's third shot for goal reminded me of myself at times. He seemed to be more worried about missing the shot and tried to not miss, when he should of just ran in confidently and banged it through without thinking.

  11. The people commenting on Bailey's record over four years need to think back to two years ago before Scully and Trengove and ask themselves how many games they wanted him to that year. We can't be glad he got us those two and then look down on his win/loss ratio.

On topic I think Craig would be great at the club in a supporting role for Bails who deserves at least another year.

  12. On the disrespect aspect of resting Swan, personally i don't think its a big deal. In Collingwood's eyes if they lose big deal. Will still finish top 2 and get home finals. Looks like the top 4 will all be Victorian anyway so even 3 or 4 wouldn't matter.

Swan has been average lately, poor for his standards and the bigger picture is having him ready at the right time. They are probably better off finishing 8th and having him fit than top and missing the final series.

Leon Davis in the back pocket is interesting to me. Any ideas who we can play on him to exploit his lack of defence?

Surely Bennell would have him for speed but maybe petterd as he should to be strong overhead. Not too many other options i could see for the pies to put Davis on.

  13. Sorry but I Didn't really know where i should put this, but i really enjoy this site and need some help. 2 days ago my cat walked across my keyboard and now the writing on this site is tiny and i can't only just make out the words. Does anybody know what i have done and how to get it back to normal. Appreciate any help.

  14. You people saying he wont back need to have a good hard think about it.

Do any of you know him and his character? Been through what he has been through?

Aussie has been extremely strong for a 22 year old man. Impossible for me to even imagine what he is going through on the other side of the country to his family.

I can only hope he comes back but am more hopeful that he finds what he needs to get himself back to a happy place internally. Best of luck Aussie you definitely deserve some.

  15. Good players respond well to criticism and rise above it. I'd give him this week and tell him its now or back to Casey for a minimum 3 week stint not a token game. Im sure he has a lot of pride and challenging that pride might bring back his best as we really do need it.

Remember form is temporary but class is permanent.

  16. Hey was out coached again today. Leaving Davey in the one spot for 3 qtrs was terrible. He would have been subbed if it was for tappy's hammy. Good move with Watts going back though.

Could say the exact same thing about Lyon leaving DalSanto on Green.

At least Davey is drawing the oppositions best tagger which frees up Moloney and Sylvia. Granted thats about the only thing Davey is currently doing.

  17. If I were JT, I'd be arguing that because I was off balance, and had Dangerfield wrapped up in the manner that I did, if I did not turn as much as I did, he would've landed heavily on top of me and potentially caused injury to myself. Dangerfield had the potential to land on Trengove with excessive force, so Duty of Care for himself was the first priority.

    Grasping at straws???!!!

I agree with this. Dangerfield had much better balance than Trengove until he decided to kick it. Dangerfield is a strong fella and if he tried to maintain his balance instead of kicking the ball in not sure Trengove would have even been able to pull him over from the position he was in.

Looks like to me anyway he needed to use the maximum amount of force possible to get him off balance and once he was off balance and moving there is no way even Hulk Hogan himself could slow the impact down.

  18. Pretty damning stats they showed.

This time Last year we were the no1 tackling team in the comp.

This year we are the last.

Can't really blame the coach forthis. Im sure he hasn't told the players to tackle and pressure less.

Responsibilty needs to rest with the players, and they are the only ones that can fix it.
