  1. Three quarter time and Casey staring down the barrel with Bendigo Gold about to score the first (and most likely last) win of its brief history. Bendigo leads by 8 points - 10.9.69 to 8.13.61.
  2. Michie responds and it's an 8 point game.
  3. Blease gets his second but Bendigo replies. Lead is 14 points in the shadows of ¾ time.
  4. Bendigo extends its lead to almost three goals over the lifeless Scorpions.
  5. Gold get the lead back with the next two and Maxy hits the post from 15 metres out. Ouch! Scorps down by 10 points and things are looking ominous halfway through the third.
  6. Big Jack Fitzpatrick marks and goals to kick start the Scorpions in the second half and give then the lead.
  7. The first thing he has to do is bite the bullet and make another application for draft assistance. If the rule allowing for this is on the books then forget the politics, we need to apply because its plain to see that after eight years, we qualify and we need to take advantage of every legally available means to help our recruiting people improve our list. Watching Casey struggle today against a team that has decided to fold at the end of the year merely reinforces my viewpoint that we are being held back by a poor list that lacks depth and strong measures need to be taken.
  8. Half Time and Bendigo Gold lead by 4 points 6.6.42 to 5.8.38. Sam Blease kicked a late goal, the only one for the quarter for the visitors. Just to provide some perspective, in the equivalent game at Casey Fields last year, the Scorpions led by 34 points at ½ time on the way to a 129 point win. And that was after they lost full forward Jesse Hogan to a knee injury early in the game.
  9. The insipid Casey Scorpions are 4.4.28 to Bendigo 6.5.41 at the 20 minute mark of the second.
  10. Another goal to Bendigo - their lead out to 8 points.
  11. Casey trail after Bendigo kicks the first goal of the second term.
  12. Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 4.3.27 to Bendigo Gold 3.5.23
  13. That's better - consecutive goals to Strauss & Barry give the Scorpions the edge - 3.3.21 to 1.5.11.
  14. Dull weather, dull game. Casey trails by 2 points - 1.3.9 to 1.5.11.
  15. Max Gawn, the lone Casey goalkicker as the Scorps trail 7 to 10.
  16. Early in the game at cold, cold Bendigo and nothing much happening. Bendigo lead 0.2.2 to 0.0.0.
  17. Port Melbourne win a close one by eight points, a great effort by the Casey Scorpions given the club's injury list. 2014 AFL Victoria Development League Casey Scorpions 4.0.24 5.5.35 7.9.51 9.12.66 Port Melbourne 3.3.21 7.4.46 8.6.54 10.14.74 Goals Casey Scorpions Jackson Rosier Waters 2 Bundle Drew Thomas Port Melbourne Johnson 3 McKenzie Magner 2 Hogan Keogh Michaliades Best Casey Scorpions Paredes Waters Shiels Rosier Jackson Corrigan Port Melbourne Johnston McKenzie Keogh Thornton Robinson Vearing
